When I was in hight school, JROTC Precision Drill Team was a varsity sport. The year I lettered in Precision Drill I was one of only a couple of sophomores to do it, so I can tell you that this routine took just tons and tons of planning and practice.
I love the crowd’s reaction, and have to admit I got a bit choked up watching this.

We also have links to a chronicle of San Francisco’s shameful history with regard to the US Marines commercial and JROTC, as well as a link to the new Marines commercial, here.
Great clip, Angus. Thanks for posting it. I saw them at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2002(the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Tattoo) and will never, ever forget it.

I saw the commercial for the first time last night. Fantastic. All their commericials are really good. Sadly, the Army-not so much.
The Navy come through with some good ones. My favorite:
Navy
Life
Liberty
And the relentless puruit of all who threaten it.

Yojimbo, is there a copy of that Navy commercial on the ‘net somewhere?

I don’t know. I certainly wouldn’t look for one with “puruit” in it. Dang! I knew there was something wrong with that and couldn’t figure out what it was. Scary, very scary.
I think it played about three or four years ago. It came out in a package that included the one where they targeted some bozo with a missile. The Navy ran a whole package of commercials at that time with the theme: If we have to kill people and break things to defend America-no problem, just give us the coordinates and consider it done.
