Next time you hear or see someone going on about the “scandal” of Sarah Palin’s the Palin Family’s [explained below] campaign wardrobe costing close to $150,000 – ask them how much they think Obama’s stupid “Barackopolis” cost.

Would it be about the same cost? [UPDATE: Or approximately 35 times more ?] By the way, the Palins are donating their new campaign wardrobe to charity after the campaign is done. Anyone know what happened to the Barackopolis?
Via Jim Treacher, who points out:
So, putting up a ridiculous stage set that made Obama look like a fascist jackass, and then packing it away after one night? That was fine. $140,000-150,000 well spent. But spending the same amount on enough clothes for two months on the campaign trail? That’s the biggest scandal since… well, since all the other Palin scandals that weren’t.
Have they made an attack on Palin yet that hasn’t backfired? Do they think we won’t know when it backfires, just because they don’t report it on NBC?
P.S. Oh, and now it turns out that the money was to clothe her whole family. How about that. But I’m sure if the Palins were running around in what they wore before she got picked, none of these brainiacs would’ve had anything bad to say about that.
Did you know Obama’s clothes descended from the heavens on a glowing golden cloud? Also, he’s a radical socialist and his own running mate said he’ll start another world war. But whatever.
UPDATE: Treacher’s comment in an earlier blog, regarding all of the attempted smears that keep backfiring: “You know what Einstein’s definition of insanity was, right? Well, it’s fun to watch. Keep up the good work, People Who Are Smarter Than Us!“
UPDATE 2 (25 Oct ‘08 ): Final bill on the Barackopolis was actually $5.3 million. More from Treacher.

McCain needs our help

Damn it, how do I link properly here?
October 25, 2008, 1:28 am at 1:28 am
You need to read the first few posts at Hugh Hewitt’s blog today. The wheels came off the Obama campaign weeks ago, but now it’s getting so bad the DemSM, the pollsters, and the Obama campaign can’t hide it anymore.
The perfect storm of Biden’s telling the US that Obama would start WW IV, Jackoff Murtha calling western PA voters racist and redneck, and Obama telling Joe the Plumber that he wants to spread the wealth around has pretty much done the trick. The recent revelations about just what evil maggots Ayers et al are is just another series of tornados at the edge of the hurricane.
McCain and Palin smell that blood trail in the water I mentioned several posts back, and they are all in to win in PA.
Remember, McCain can win without PA, but Obama can’t. If McCain wins PA, it will be an electoral landslide… just like I’ve been predicting for a long, long time.
McCAIN IS AHEAD!

Wizard, we use HTML here, and you can get a very good idea on how to properly link (as well as bolding and italicising) here. There’s also a little sandpit where you can practice before moving on to linking on sites, and any errors you make will be a secret between you and W3schools.
Comment edited. I never let the tag run wild, m’kay?!

I don’t like the results of “if the world could vote” Wizard. They seem strange and scary to me.
Europe has clearly voted though, as has most of the Middle East and Russia.
Interestingly enough, when I voted for McCain, I got a message saying:
I’d bet that unless it’s a problem relating only to my computer, it’s a problem for anyone voting for McCain, thus why Barry got so much of the vote.

Most of the world have drank the Koolaid.

Thanks Ash, have (finally) sussed out Ital bold etc, but having issues with getting the links right. Will read that tomorrow, its a bit late for interweb stuff atm.
I had no dramas voting, maybe they just dont like mexicans
October 25, 2008, 2:07 am at 2:07 am
Bloody Mexicans!
/actually, running a computer that can’t even handle service pack two from Microsoft right now. But that’s a technical difficulty, and therefore illegal, right?
October 25, 2008, 9:15 am at 9:15 am
Ash – I just got the same error when I tried to vote for McCain at “If the World Could Vote”. What’s up with that? I’m on a little play computer w/Linux & Firefox at the moment; will try my Windows laptop later.
And Angus, I can’t help but get the vibe that there’s something screwy with the Obama campaign either. If they were really annihilating McCain-Palin and if McCain-Palin were really so on-the-nose and irrelevant to US voters like all the MSM keeps trying to convince us, why do I still smell panic in some of their crazy smears, why are their Astroturfers still going hell-for-leather like their lives depended on it?
October 25, 2008, 9:45 am at 9:45 am
I cant even open service pack two, but that is due to microsoft deciding my cd key isnt valid anymore, and my refusal to shell out anymore money than i already have to to those greedy bastards.
Hmm, I just tried again and it flashed that screen, but then it said my vote was accepted. Still the world looks awfully blue. Must be that global warming…

WOOOHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thanks Ash

Was that a key I just saw flying across the Nullarbor?

I was guessing. First you said “that is due to microsoft deciding my cd key isnt valid anymore,” then you woohoo’ed and thanked Ash – so I took a wild guess that someone emailed you a “valid” MS validation key. Not that anyone here would be messin’ with validation keys…
If that wasn’t it, what was your Woohoo in aid of?
October 25, 2008, 4:21 pm at 4:21 pm
He got the HTML linking to work properly Spot.
Well done Wizard.
/I would never use pirated MS Office, Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite, 500 other programs…
October 25, 2008, 9:15 pm at 9:15 pm
Spot, Mate, I owe you a beer or 24 for that one. Let me know where and when you’d like to collect.
October 25, 2008, 9:31 pm at 9:31 pm
No worries, Woz – and don’t worry about the carton, we all do each other enough favors here that it likely evens out in the end. Just record a “credit” against my name in the Favor Bank
October 26, 2008, 7:02 am at 7:02 am
Yeah. But nah. But yeah. Anytime mate.
I prolly drove within a mile of your joint on the way home tonight. Dont make me stick a stubbie in the letter box of every house in Swannie, I’d have to down grade to Very Bogan.
In my personal experience of the chicken stranglers, I’d do about 15 houses. Then end up tied up on the sniper range for 3 days. Even the Bikies are scared to f@ck about in Swanbourne…

5.3 million?! ROFL!
