Prepare for an Ice Age Earth

Here is a great article that points out the single biggest flaw in the AGW crowd’s “reasoning,” as it looks at actual ice core evidence for earth’s temperature variations over the past 140,000 years versus relative micro-events over the past few centuries… in Pravda, no less, via Drudge.

This article also ties climate changes to variations in the earth’s orbit and rotation on its axis.

The earth is now on the brink of entering another Ice Age, according to a large and compelling body of evidence from within the field of climate science. Many sources of data which provide our knowledge base of long-term climate change indicate that the warm, twelve thousand year-long Holocene period will rather soon be coming to an end, and then the earth will return to Ice Age conditions for the next 100,000 years.

Ice cores, ocean sediment cores, the geologic record, and studies of ancient plant and animal populations all demonstrate a regular cyclic pattern of Ice Age glacial maximums which each last about 100,000 years, separated by intervening warm interglacials, each lasting about 12,000 years.

Most of the long-term climate data collected from various sources also shows a strong correlation with the three astronomical cycles which are together known as the Milankovich cycles. The three Milankovich cycles include the tilt of the earth, which varies over a 41,000 year period; the shape of the earth’s orbit, which changes over a period of 100,000 years; and the Precession of the Equinoxes, also known as the earth’s ‘wobble’, which gradually rotates the direction of the earth’s axis over a period of 26,000 years. According to the Milankovich theory of Ice Age causation, these three astronomical cycles, each of which effects the amount of solar radiation which reaches the earth, act together to produce the cycle of cold Ice Age maximums and warm interglacials.”

To give some perspective, the first modern humans appeared just over 100,000 years ago. It’s a three page article, but you should read the whole enchilada to arm yourself with knowledge to crush the climo-tards with.

The message of “cooling” has just made these lunatics come out with even more bizarre scares and a touch of racism:

Aborigines ‘hardest hit by climate change’

Where’s Bolt when you need him?

  2. bingbing Says:

Gotta love that. The temperature is “tipped” to rise. Anyway, Aborigines managed to survive in the outback the last 60,000 odd years so what’s another 50? Also, I always thought the main responsibility for looking after one’s health would rest on oneself.

Yawn, so it’s gonna get colder now, not warmer? LOL. The Gore Effect really does seem to have gone global.

  3. Ash Says:

Except for Melbourne. Global warming’s hit here so hard I think my car is melting.

  4. Ash Says:

And holy crap, my neighbour is out for a jog. :|

  5. billynorton Says:

One way or the other it helps with population control

  6. bingbing Says:

Incidently, an adult student in class this morning, whilst discussing the beeding habits of emperor penguins (as you do) mentioned they could be in danger because of global warming and the subsequent ice melting in Antartica.

Boy did that class cop a serve for the last 10 minutes.

Ash, your neighbour must be bonkers.

  7. bingbing Says:

PS The kid with the ’stop CO2′ cap which I threatened to burn in front of him the other week (but decided on a quick AGW fact checking session, instead): haven’t seen him since, d’oh.

  8. Ash Says:

That assessment is right on the money Bing, I can barely be bothered moving.

  9. The Wizard of WOZ Says:

Have some concrete with your Weetbix Ash, its not even 40 over there.

38 is just another summer day here in the golden west.

P.S. I had to retype this as I was rudely informed that I was “posting too fast” and should slow down. Whats up with that?

  10. Ash Says:

Actually Woz, according to my thermometer, it hit 42 where I’m at.

  11. eggz Says:

Or in Big Al’s case: an Ass Age …

  12. The Wizard of WOZ Says:

42? Ok now your getting somewhere, that might even get me to turn on the aircon.

  13. Ash Says:

You gotta remember Woz, I’m a mountain girl and I like mountain temperatures.

  14. mythusmage Says:

Later today we’re supposed to hit 81. Yesterday we got up to 78. That’s right, we’re having a Santa Ana. Hot, dry winds out of the east, lots of new fuel for fires. The state of California had to take all the fire fighting equipment they’d put into storage back out again. We’ve got wildfires on the brain again.

Something always has to buck the trend. :)

  15. Gramfan Says:

It made 30C in “the leafy eastern suburbs” where I am, according to my thermometre. (No one believes me any more!)

This is nothing unusual for a Melbourne summer – in fact it has been cool-ish. Once April has passed it will be safe.

    Ash:
No one is supposed to do gym in hot weather as you know. Your neighbor is mad, and poor bingbing having to cope with silly students. You teach’em, teach!

  16. bingbing Says:

Googled the temperature of this little city. It’s at 0 but with the 37km/h wind it says it feels like -7. Was walking outside for about 10 minutes before – you’d better believe it. My noggin was in pain it was so freezing. Note to self – beanie tomorrow! Forecast is for -4 by 9pm, then a low tomorrow of -11 warming up to -1 but Saturday and Sunday should be nice with predicted 8 and 11 degree highs respectively.

Still, spare a thought for folks like J.M. Bet it’s bloody ridiculously low where he’s at.

What’s more disturbing, looking at that pic, is the chunk missing from the lower left of the planet. What extra doom are they predicting will happen? Run! Run for your lives!

  17. The Wizard of WOZ Says:

-11? Are you serious? I’d be burning anything I could lay my hands on if it was that cold. No wonder the NorK’s want to invade, it must be even colder up there…

  18. Angus Dei Says:

I assure you bingbing, it’s a fully operational Deathstar, despite the missing chunk.

  19. J.M. Heinrichs Says:

Temp is +2C, no precip. Snow has melted quite nicely, about half of the lawn is back to green.

Note that ‘cold’ starts at about -20C; above that is ‘chilly’. At -11C, one should consider wearing a sweater outside.

    Cheers

  20. The WIzard of WOZ Says:

Jeebus JM, you counting the polar bears at the north pole or something?

  21. Ash Says:

    Close, he’s living in Canada.
