…but there is more “No Carbon Tax” Rally Twitter-snark below the fold, for your reading enjoyment!

"Dinosaurs"! declares Newsy Spice ...and if a TV station made the same call about over-40 female newsreaders?

Rednecked knuckle-dragging mouth-breathing apostrophe-abusing banjo-playing dole-bludging tax-dodging poopy-panted racist sexist homophobic old people!! But hey, #NoLabels, right?

See? It wasn't even about whether Australia should tax carbon dioxide emissions in order to control the entire world's weather. It was a "whites racist geriatric rally"! Sucked in!!!

Let's torture that KKK analogy a liiiitle bit more. Conservatives = Democrats; Canberra, Australia = Deep South; Anti-Tax = Racist; burning crosses emit CO2... YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE

And did we mention they were OLD? BTW, this person's Twitter background is NOT racist. It's "ironic". Yo.

Indeed. Very #oldtone. None of your crew would ever treat a female politician with anything but the utmost respect *cough*SarahPalin*cough*

That convinced me! I now believe that a tax on Australian carbon dioxide emissions will keep the whole world's climate from ever changing again!

Preach it, Sistah! I believe! I believe that with enough tax, an Australian Labor government CAN control the world's climate. Yes, we can!

"To from"? Now let's hear about some of the BIG issues surrounding today's anti-tax rally. Prepositions!

See? No question! If a female politician EVER cops any abuse, it's ALWAYS and ONLY because she's a guuurl. Next?

Of course not! I can't think of a single instance in which Howard or Abbott were ever portrayed in a personal and offensive manner. Can you?

Equality! Female politicians are only ever abused on account of their gender; male pollies are abused because they deserve it!

Oh dear. Everyone's being hated on now. A former Labor press secretary now comfortably ensconced in the Canberra Press Gallery with the rest of his Labor brethren, not feelin' the love from those he likes to smear as "the lunar right"? Unimaginable.

Dismissing everyone with whom you disagree as "insane" is an interesting strategy. Especially when one of the main reasons you are dismissing them as "insane" is because they're skeptical that taxing Australians' carbon dioxide emissions will lower the seas, cool the globe, prevent "extreme weather" around the world and stop hurricanes in their tracks. Let's see how that works out for y'all.

Thanks for that spot, from an”old, doddering, one foot in the grave, confused, kkk, pants wetting, old, old old extremist, and did I mention old, Grandmother”. Heh.

1. Old age begins the day after my next birthday.
2. Merilyn is really old, and probably all carbonned up.
3. Those who were totally upset by the carbon tax rallies, and especially ‘all the old people’, should be encouraged to express their commitments to their cause by self-conducted expiration routines. It’s truly natural and the best way.
Cheers

Great work spot. Please add this one from Tracey Spicer. She was challenged by some and in my case continued her twitter conversation with me by sending me three delightful DMs. Not sure why she suddenly decided to go private…I’ve asked but no answer. Being an opinion writer I would have thought she would want her opinions published.
I can see from her subsequent tweets she tried to cover up a bit.

[Updated: added now. Ta, C.]
I’ve grabbed a screencap, will see about adding it in when I get a chance. Thanks!Instructive to see that everyone’s favourite perky
youngmid-40s blonde newsreader hates old people, too. Can’t wait till she does her next intro to a story on aged care: “I’m here speaking to some of the smelly old incontinent dinosaurs…” :-/March 24, 2011, 3:47 pm at 3:47 pm
She tweeted later it was about climate deniers… and that SHE follows the science. As if she could even tell us the chemical composition of blonde hair dye.*snort*
March 24, 2011, 8:22 pm at 8:22 pm
…To clarify, my dinosaur quip was directed as climate change deniers – not older people. Protesters were of all ages. #noCTrally…
Spicer should grab a bigger shovel for that hole she’s digging.
Doesn’t she know calling people deniers is equal to calling them holocaust deniers no matter what their age is?.

March 24, 2011, 1:10 pm at 1:10 pm
Dear Sirs And Madams,
I could not go, I am too old and unwell but when I was young I went to all the rallies , Moratorium, May day, Springboks, etc , then I got smart and changed my mind, you remember minds don’t you?
Young people would be at work wouldn’t they? Or still in bed if not working.

Oh, and yes, how much more charming could those tweets possibly be?

Never read such a collection of bigoted ageist sneering in all my life. Hey remember old age comes to everyone in time. Maybe brains are acquired with advancing years because I can’t recognise any trace of one on here.
March 24, 2011, 7:06 pm at 7:06 pm
Re the “TIMALANCHE”, good one. Got one the other day for the first Melbourne rally. Alas, no linky love today or yesterday, and yesterday’s one had photos and accounts of the Canberra and Melbourne rallies.
Sad bingers is sad.

Sad bingers found out why… may yet get an other TIMALANCHE, er, yet.

“Makes me depressed to live here”
Well there’s always that low carbon workers paradise north korea, dearie!
No poopy panted ol women hating waaaaacist white people there to sully the view.
Just lots of good ol’ dirt to hoe into if you’re feeling a bit peckish – oh and the odd interminable speech from the funny guy with the weird haircut and erkos…
March 24, 2011, 9:53 pm at 9:53 pm
People use NK almost when trying to be funny, but do many truly understand that NK represents modern-day socialism at its “peak”?
Do people really understand just what North Korea is and what South Korea isn’t?
Ask yourselves (not you, Rabz, you know what I mean), where did all the hardliners’ arguments go after 1991?
Where did all the socialists and communists go after the fall of communist Russia, the USSR, the Evil Empire…?
Where did they go? And if they didn’t go, what did they refocus their efforts on?
March 24, 2011, 10:01 pm at 10:01 pm
And BTW, my fiancé did the translation on that last vid, NOT Vlad Tepes. He did, however, add it to the vid.
March 24, 2011, 10:51 pm at 10:51 pm
I don’t actually think Australia is in danger of becoming another North Korea.
March 24, 2011, 11:14 pm at 11:14 pm
Of course we’re not. That’s not what I was trying to say. It was a reply to a comment about North Korea.
As a country that in an almost Godwin-like manner is used in arguments, I take any chance I can get to hit home what it’s like in NK.
No. I’m not equating NK with Oz. I was merely trying to add some context as to what it means when North Korea is mentioned.
That said, I have a stand alone post on my blog right now, and whilst an extreme example, is a reminder that a socialist path is certainly not one we should wish to dabble with ever again.
Redistribution of wealth via a carbon tax leans towards socialism and shouldn’t be touched with a bargepole.
Clear enough?
March 24, 2011, 10:13 pm at 10:13 pm

March 24, 2011, 11:26 pm at 11:26 pm

March 25, 2011, 1:47 am at 1:47 am
Absolutely brilliant sendup! As an official old person, I love bashing kids, especially the ones who tweet.
March 25, 2011, 9:47 am at 9:47 am
Anyone protesting against carbon tax is bigoted homophobic racist and sexist. There’s even special term for such person – carbon racist.

Shocked at the rudeness of young people towards their seniors. No respect. They will be old one day. What goes around comes around. It just goes to show what pea-brains there are in some sections of our youth. I fear for the future of our country in their hands.
March 28, 2011, 11:35 pm at 11:35 pm

I feel sorry for Raine, I really do. It’s not even really his fault. Had he received anything close to a decent education, his natural God-given ability that is a human brain could have been utilised for good.
Yet, alas.
Now we witness a man who doesn’t even know the correct plural form of a common word who has nonetheless thrust himself into geopolitics.
We witness a man (teenager?) who doesn’t even understand the difference between carbon and carbon dioxide yet who now counts himself as an authority on a 4+ billion year old planet.
He can’t put an apostrophe in the right place, let alone a full stop.
In essence, we witness a man who can’t even construct a basic sentence yet who is trying to undo the so-called environmental damage done, in his opinion, by his betters.
My guess is a man who cannot even construct a simple sentence doesn’t posses the concept of critical thinking.
In essence, poor Raine is a dangerous idiot with, albeit, good intentions, who unfortunately doesn’t have a fucking clue what he’s talking about.
January 9, 2012, 2:29 am at 2:29 am
I do blame the baby-boomer generation for the Raines and the Dorises of this world.
January 9, 2012, 2:37 am at 2:37 am
Well, he’s probably been validated more times in his life than a 15 year old car has been filled up with petrol. And, in a sense, perhaps it is the baby boomers’ fault.
But then again, only Raine, really, can take responsibility for what Raine thinks.
He’s on the Internet. No excuse.
As for Doris… poor lass has know idea of the trauma I experience every time the home-bound plane I’m on crosses the Equator.
Seat belts on.
FLIP!
