Majority party eyes shift in Russia’s political system

Russia’s largest political party, United Russia, has unanimously backed the creation of a new party chairman position. United Russia is due to officially ask outgoing President Vladimir Putin to become chairman. If he accepts, Putin will combine the party leadership with the role of prime minister from May 8.

Israel snubs Carter, declines security help

JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israeli leaders shunned former U.S. President Jimmy Carter during a visit because of his plans to meet Hamas and Israel’s secret service declined to assist U.S. agents guarding him, U.S. sources said on Monday.

“They’re not getting support from local security,” one of the sources said, on condition of anonymity.

An American source described as “unprecedented” the lack of Shin Bet cooperation with the U.S. Secret Service, which protects all current and former U.S. presidents, as well as Israeli leaders when they visit the United States.

Jimmy, for the life of me I can’t understand why

Obama’s Other Jeremiah Wrights

Rappers are gaga over Obama. The superstar Jay-Z, who raps about “b——,” “hoes” and “n—–,“ even urged voters to support Obama in a robo-call for the March 4 Ohio primary and caucus. The equally foul-mouthed rapper Will.I.am, whose hit songs include “I love my B—-,” has hyped Obama in two widely-viewed videos posted on YouTube.

Obama even recorded a voice over for a new album out this June from rapper Q-tip. Will it contain lyrics like these sonnets from another Q-tip song? “Close the door, ‘ight let a n—- rock. Cause we ‘bout to eat real s—, not s— slop.”

Who are these members of Obama’s amen corner? Many are the industry’s leading lights, who have become rich and famous thanks to the willingness of liberals like Obama to ignore or excuse their glorification of sexism, drugs and violence. Without this kind of collaboration they would just be unemployed thugs instead of millionaires.

Obama thus far has equivocated on rappers. He has criticized their language, but adamantly refused to denounce the whole sordid genre as the unique cultural problem that it is.

“I haven’t just singled out rappers,” Obama told Al Sharpton’s National Action Network conference last year, according to the New York Observer. “I’ve said I’ve heard those words [used by rappers] around the kitchen table in some homes. I hear them in the barber shop. I hear them on the basketball court. All of us have been complicit in diminishing ourselves.”

Obama here relies on the pro-forma defense of rap music. Yes, apologists say, it’s racist and sexist but it only reflects the racism and sexism of society.

Oh, really? Where else but rap do folks talk so openly and regularly about b——, n—— and hoes? What other industry makes millions of dollars from those words? Obama says he’s heard this kind of language on the basketball court. Which one? Not any NBA game. Players who curse during games are suspended and fined.

Where else but rap do you hear words like these from Obama supporter Jay-Z in his song “99 Problems?”

Now once upon a time not long ago

A n—- like myself had to strong arm a hoe

This is not a hoe in the sense of having a p—

But a p—- having no God Damn sense

Besides Jay-Z, Obama has also won support from rap mogul Russell Simmons, rapper Nas, whose new album is titled “N—–“ and 9/11 conspiracy theorist Mos Def.

It’s high time the media ask some tough questions. Why has Obama collaborated with rappers? Is he familiar with their words? How could he not be? The senator’s spokesperson said that when he and Ludacris met the two men found common ground on AIDS prevention. How do you find common ground on sexual behavior with someone who calls women “b——?”

Have any rappers donated to his campaign? Will he return the money? Why has he not renounced support from rappers? Is this going to take 20 years like it did with Reverend Wright?

At stake here is something more fundamental than Obama’s rank hypocrisy. The willingness to break ranks with allies or anyone in your general orbit is the fundamental moral test for anyone engaged in public life.

In the 1980s, David Dinkins, New York City’s first black mayor, without any public pressure unequivocally denounced Louis Farrakhan. (In contrast to Jesse Jackson who has not to this day.) Dinkins did not try to offer any context for Farrakhan’s hate mongering or liken him to a misguided uncle as Obama did with Wright.

Obama should follow Dinkins’ lead. The senator should say that instead of performing songs for him rappers would be better off playing in the Rev. Wright’s choir.

Obama: Clinton Using GOP Playbook

bits and pieces

WASHINGTON (AP) – campaign_minute After days on the campaign defensive, Democrat Barack Obama accused rival Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday of leveling criticism straight from the Republican playbook and said even so, he will win the White House over John McCain and an “out of touch” GOP.

“He’s had a front-row seat to the last eight years of disastrous policies that have widened the income gap and saddled our children with debt,” Obama said. “And now he’s promising four more years of the very same thing.”

“Obviously, it’s a little easier for me to say that, since, you know, I lead in delegates and states and popular vote.”

Let’s see here. Barack Hussein Obama, has been the junior U.S. Senator since 2004. So for coming up on four years, wouldn’t Hussein have had that same “front-row seat”?

Smug, isn’t he?

Zimbabwe: Court Denies Election Appeal

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) – Zimbabwe’s High Court rejected an appeal Monday for the immediate release of presidential election results, dashing hopes for an end to a paralyzing political crisis and prompting the opposition to call a nationwide strike.
Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai says he won the March 29 election outright and has accused President Robert Mugabe of holding back the results to try to maintain his 28-year grip in power. Independent tallies show Tsvangirai won, but did not receive enough votes to prevent a runoff.

Tsvangirai’s Movement for Democratic Change had hoped the court—though stacked with Mugabe loyalists—would force the election commission to release the results after a 16-day wait. The commission, which published results for parliamentary and local elections within several days of the election, said it can’t release the presidential results until it investigates electoral anomalies.

Mugabe out of power, would be like Christmas without Santa. Wait, the Left is trying that one.

Obama Lashes Out at ‘08 Opponents Over ‘Bitter’ Reactions

Barack Obama took a stab at Hillary Clinton on Monday, saying a widely-circulated photo of her tossing back a shot of Crown Royal doesn’t make her a woman of the people.

In fact, the Democratic presidential candidate said, Clinton and John McCain are merely Washington insiders who will say and do what they need to in order to get elected.

“Around election time, the candidates can’t do enough for you. They’ll promise you anything, give you a long list of proposals and even come around, with TV crews in tow, to throw back a shot and a beer,” Obama said to a cheering forum of the Alliance for American Manufacturers in Pittsburgh.

Hey, Hussein. You are still A U.S. Senator, why I don’t know…BUT, doesn’t that make YOU an “insider”?

“Around election time……………….”

Would that not include you, Hussein?

Hamas Cleric Predicts ‘Rome Will Be Conquered by Islam’

Hooray Jimmy. Well, I mean…you’re not Catholic…Why the hell should your care, huh? Just like you aren’t Jewish…you don’t care in that case, either.

Just as long as you don’t turn Hamas onto peanuts…You should be just fine. Jimmy, you were not worth two damns as President…Your senility process has gone downhill from your apex and your apex, stunk.

A sermon last Friday by a prominent Muslim cleric and Hamas member of the Palestinian parliament openly declared that “the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital,” would soon be conquered by Islam.

The fiery sermon, delivered by Yunis al-Astal and aired on Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV, predicted that Rome would become “an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe.”

“Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion,” al-Astal preached, “so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security and consolidation of power, and even to conquests through da’wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world.

“Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our prophet Muhammad,” he added.

Civil Liberties Groups Are Funny…

…although, that’s in the same way that a car crash is funny.

Civil liberties groups in Australia are complaining about new laws proposed by Labor that would allow security agencies to intercept emails.

However, as you’ll read, they’re complaining that employers will then be able to read email with the intention of finding a reason to fire an employee. They completely miss the major error in this thinking: if you’re sending personal emails on work time on company equipment, your employer already has the complete right to read what you are sending!

As is often the case, civil liberties groups are making Much Ado About The Wrong Issue.

Big surprise.
