My Current Listening.

Heheheheh. I’ll bet you seppos wouldn’t think a skip could be a fan of Johnny Horton!

Today is a pottering day, and that’s done best with the record player on high.

I grew up with Horton, and Ray Charles, and Johnny Cash, and more. My oldies left us some absolute gold records. All I need now is a decent stereo to go with my great turntable.

For your amusement, this song made me cry buckets every time I heard it as a child, and one more just because…

God bless America! 😀

Can McCain make Obama=Kerry?

Somewhat lengthy but very interesting.

Embeds Fox News Blogs

In reading this, Obama doesn’t have to concern himself with McCain making “Obama=Kerry?”, Obama does a damn fine job all on his own, making “Obama=Kerry?”

P.S. The smiley faces are related to the 8 next to the )….OR it just could be my kind of wicked sarcasm 8)

By the way, in this McCain tosses a damn fine, wickedly sarcastic shot at Hussein Obama.

Think I just found the “leaker” in GWB’s White House. So did everyone else.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — A public school teacher taught creationism in his science class and used a device to burn the image of a cross on students’ arms, according to a report by independent investigators.

Mount Vernon Middle School teacher John Freshwater was insubordinate in failing to remove a Bible and other religious materials from his classroom and continued to preach his Christian beliefs despite complaints by other teachers and administrators, the report also said.

We have a duty to protect Zimbabwe

Robert Mugabe is murdering, starving and brutalising his people in the run-up to the presidential elections next week, says Peter Oborne. We should act now to prevent civil war and ethnic cleansing

Ten years ago the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan set out a new international doctrine. Annan declared that the world was looking forward to what he called ‘a new century of human rights’.

For the United Nations, declared Annan, this meant an entirely new way of doing things. ‘No government,’ he declared, ‘has the right to hide behind national sovereignty in order to violate the human rights or fundamental freedoms of its peoples.

‘Whether a person belongs to the minority or the majority, that person’s human rights and fundamental freedoms are sacred.’

Well, get on with it Brit’s, we are tied up right now…You can do it. Better yet, convince Kofi to get it done. After all, counting the money you stuffed in pockets, from the UN…has to get boring.

Falling Down Laundry Chute And Breaking Neck Remains America’s No. 548,221 Killer

ATLANTA—With more than four such deaths occurring over the past seven years, safety advocates are once again concerned about fatalities resulting from falling down a laundry chute and breaking one’s neck, an accident that is still among the top 600,000 killers of Americans.

Although other deadly mishaps have increased during the first half of 2008—most notably shooting oneself in the head after mistaking a handgun for a telephone, which jumped four spots to the No. 548,219 most common cause of death—Dr. Lawrence Dunn, a public health expert and spokesperson for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cautioned that citizens should remain aware of laundry chute– related fatalities.

“It is, however, one of the few cases in which obesity is beneficial,” Baron continued. “An overweight person will often become wedged in the chute, preventing a fatal fall.”

Baron was careful to point out that people with weight problems should still take necessary precautions when working with or around laundry chutes. Citing statistics gathered by the Melinda Havemeyer Foundation, Baron said that becoming stuck in a laundry chute and starving to death because the rest of one’s family is on vacation in Arizona is currently the No. 657,982 killer in the United States.

Israeli Military Demonstrates Ability to Attack Iran, U.S. Officials Say

American military officials say Israel launched a major military exercise that appeared to be aimed in part at demonstrating its ability to stage an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Israel’s military refused to publicly confirm or deny whether the exercise was a rehearsal for a potential bombing attack.

Pact Made: Surely This Is Illegal

Seventeen girls under the age of 16 from the same school are pregnant due to sticking to a pact that they all made to each other to get pregnant and raise their babies together.

Two thoughts immediately came to mind.

One, where were the parents? Didn’t they know that their children were having sex? If I’d done this kind of thing, my parents would have slaughtered me.

Two, where are the police? These girls are all under 16. The fathers should be tracked down and their ages ascertained, and any necessary charges should be laid.

These girls are still children themselves. They shouldn’t be able to do something so life-changing as having a child unless they’re well aware of the consequences. These girls, from what the article says, merely think they’re going to get unconditional love. That’s only one aspect of it. There’s a lot of work involved, a lot of sleep loss, and a lot of exhaustion. It’s not a decision that should be made just as part of a deal with your mates.

Czech Mother Accused of Skinning Caged Son, Feeding Him to Relatives

Whole new meaning to……Guess who’s coming to dinner, this evening..

A mother is accused of partially skinning her caged son and feeding it to relatives.

Kalra Mauerova, 31, of Brno in the Czech Republic, wept in court as she admitted torturing her son Ondrej, and his ten-year-old brother, Jakub, The Sun reported.

Mauerova, a member of the Grail Movement cult, caged Ondrej for months while relatives, also members of the cult, ate his raw flesh, a judge heard yesterday.

The court in Brno heard the family sexually abused the boys and made them cut themselves with knives.

The boys said they were kept in cages or handcuffed to tables and made to stand for days in their own urine.

The abuse was discovered when a man living nearby installed a TV monitor to keep watch on his newborn baby.

Instead of pictures of his newborn he was confronted by live images of Ondrej naked in the cellar — beaten and chained, The Sun reported.

Mauerova is understood to have installed the monitor so she could watch her victims suffering from her kitchen.
