Mandela laments Mugabe’s ‘tragic failure’. It’s about time Nelson. Probably much to late, where has your voice been? You were jailed, when your voice was heard when it was Whites. Why so long and late, with Blacks?

Bits:

Zimbabwe’s neighbours increased diplomatic pressure on Robert Mugabe on Wednesday night as Nelson Mandela, the former South African president, broke years of silence to describe Zimbabwe’s crisis as a “tragic failure of leadership”.

He described Zimbabwe in the context of some of the world’s enduring disasters, saying: “Nearer to home we had seen the outbreak of violence against fellow Africans in our own country and the tragic failure of leadership in our neighbouring Zimbabwe,” and implored younger generations to “rid the world of such suffering”.

UPDATE: Canada To Obama. Bite Our Ass…Pander to voters at peril, U.S. told

Big-city U. S. mayors and presidential hopeful Barack Obama, who joined the parade this week of ill-informed, U. S. anti-oil sands policies, should be careful what they wish for.

While the aim is undoubtedly to pander to the electorate in an election year charged with oil and climate-change debate, what they are stoking is an increasingly angry Canadian energy industry that is seriously looking at non-U. S. markets for its oil.

Here’s what Rick George, chief executive of Suncor Energy Inc., Canada’s largest single oil sands producer, said this week, reflecting rising frustration with the wave of American anti-oil sands policies:

“We are down to very limited amounts of spare capacity,” he said. “Mexico is in very steep decline. The North Sea is in decline. Venezuela is likely to slip from here. There are problems in Nigeria, Russia. The world will absorb this oil one way or the other. If the U. S. doesn’t take it, then we will develop other markets.”

What a guy…This Obama, huh? Not even Pres…and he offends one of our strongest bonds…AND Obama thinks BUSH and McCain suck!!??

Saudi Marriage Official Says 1-Year-Old Brides OK

Call it marriage, Islamic style.

Saudi marriage officiant Dr. Ahmad al-Mu’bi told Lebanese television viewers last week that it’s permissible for girls as young as 1 to marry — as long as sex is postponed.

Al-Mu’bi’s remarkable comments also included an explanation that “there is no minimal age for entering marriage.”

“You can have a marriage contract even with a 1-year-old girl, not to mention a girl of 9, 7 or 8,” he said. “But is the girl ready for sex or not?” What is the appropriate age for sex for the first time? This varies according to environment and tradition,” al-Mu’bi said.*

Click here to view al-Mu’bi’s interview with LBC-TV.

*This offer is good indefinitely. It also comes with the standard honor stoning/honor killing guarantee, if said 1-year-old plays with little Mahmoud’s pee-pee, when in fact she is betrothed to old Achmed. The offer IS transferable should you find your predilection for camels and goats, to be stronger then the want of a woman to beat.

Technological Progress to the Rescue: Pratt & Whitney Style

One of the pits of error eco-alarmists fall into is that of believing in technological stasis: We’re going to run out of oil because carbureted engines use too much fuel, to take a 1970’s example (Not to mention possible advances in drilling tech and new discoveries of further oil deposits). Of course, fuel injection technology makes a modern V-8, like the one in my pickup truck, more efficient that a 70’s era Ford pinto with a carburetor, we’ve discovered more oil deposits in the last thirty years, and we can get at more of it now because of advances in drilling methods (If only the tone-deaf leftist politicians would let us get it).

This two-dimensionality of thought has recently been on display with the eco-tards railing against airliners and other jet aircraft. Well, Pratt & Whitney, who brought the world the mighty Double Wasp radial engine of the WW II era that powered such fascist-slayers as the P-47D Thunderbolt and the Corsair, have, for about twenty years, been working on a revolutionary jet engine called, “the geared turbofan.”

“That’s why Pratt & Whitney has so much to brag about with its geared turbofan, which significantly advances jet-engine technology. Current jet engines have fans that suck air into the combustion chamber, where it is compressed, mixed with fuel, and ignited. Then it’s blown through a turbine, generating thrust. It works, but it’s inefficient because the fan is connected to the engine and turns at the same speed as the turbine. Fans work best at low speed, while turbines work best at high speed.
Pratt & Whitney solved that problem with a gearbox that lets the fan and turbine spin independently. The fan is larger and it spins at one-third the speed of the turbine, creating a quieter, more powerful engine the company says requires less fuel, emits less C02 and costs 30 percent less to maintain. Pratt & Whitney has been torture-testing the engines, and its engineers have simulated more than 40,000 takeoffs and landings.”

Geared Turbofan

While the idiot leftists preach pie-in-the sky alternative fuels, which are coming, but about twenty years hence, P&W has the interim solution that will be online by 2013.

Oh, those evil corporations.

In The Confessional…

Dear Father,

Please forgive me, for I have sinned. It’s been two days since my last confession, and I don’t think the Holy Father will forgive me.

A friend gave me a treasured possession, and I lost it. Not within weeks, but within hours. I went back to where I last had it, but it was night and it seems lost forever. It’s a priceless possession, and while he took it far better than I thought, I still can’t forgive myself.

I called my sister some very nasty names because she’s pregnant for the third time. She still doesn’t take care of the first two (6 and 3) quite right.

I told my father to go jump off a cliff. He should.

And there’s other things. But I feel bad enough already.

I’ll have to work on this.

Obama’s fight against ‘dirty oil’ could hurt oil sands

WASHINGTON — Barack Obama on Tuesday vowed he would break America’s addiction to “dirty, dwindling, and dangerously expensive” oil if he is elected U.S. president — and one of his first targets might well be Canada’s oil sands.

A senior adviser to Mr. Obama’s campaign told reporters it’s an “open question” whether oil produced from northern Alberta’s oilsands fits with the Democratic candidate’s plan to shift the U.S. sharply away from consumption of carbon-intensive fossil fuels.

Somehow, I don’t believe in his large and wonderus mind, Hussein Obama EVER came across and read the book written by one Mr. Dale Carnegie…”How To Win Friends and Influence People“.

Architect Looks to Construct First Moving Tower in Dubai

NEW YORK  —  Is it real or science fiction?

An Italian architect said he is poised to start construction on a new skyscraper in Dubai that will be “the world’s first building in motion,” an 80-story tower with revolving floors that give it an ever-shifting shape.

The spinning floors, hung like rings around an immobile cement core, would offer residents a constantly changing view of the Persian Gulf and the city’s futuristic skyline.

A few penthouse villas would spin on command using a voice-activated computer. The motion of the rest of the building would be choreographed in patterns that could be altered over time.

Speaking at a news conference in New York on Tuesday, the building’s designer, David Fisher, declared that his tower will revolutionize the way skyscrapers are made — a claim that might strike some as excessively bold.

Fisher acknowledges that he is not well known, has never built a skyscraper before and hasn’t practiced architecture regularly in decades. But he insisted his lack of experience wouldn’t stop him from completing the project, which has attracted top design talent, including Leslie E. Robertson, the structural engineer for the World Trade Center and the Shanghai World Financial Center.

One of these two guys, maybe both, ( I say TWO, for the fact that “Fisher” isn’t normally considered an “Italian” name, although it could have been Fischetti) are poised to become THE Obama, of the World of Buildings. “never built” “Hasn’t practiced” “lack of experience” are kind of a giveaway.

Lotsa’ luck, guy or guys. OH, to those who purchase these ‘whirling dervishes’, thoughts and prayers in advance.

Although, I have been in a (slowly) rotating bar, at the top of a Holiday Inn, on one of the beaches, (St Petersburg Beach, FL) I’ve lived on. It was called “The Crows Nest”. If you visited the men’s room, (which didn’t rotate) after a few martinis or whatever, upon exiting said room, panic attacks occurred on a regular basis.

Defending Obama on Rev. Wright, Pelosi says she has disagreements with her pastors

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she has disagreed with her pastors, dismissing claims that Americans will hold the controversial sermons of Rev. Jeremiah Wright against Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

During an interview with Greta Van Susteren on Fox News that aired Tuesday night, Pelosi strongly defended Obama when pressed on the effect Wright will have on the presidential election.

“Look, I am just glad [Obama] went to church,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi, a Catholic who supports abortion rights, said she doesn’t believe that politicians “should be held accountable for everything that their pastors say in their church. I have disagreements with some of the things my own pastors and churches that I go to and if I had to walk out every time I had an area of disagreement, then I would be hard put. It’s a disagreement.”

Has your parish priest, shouted “God Damn America“, during mass…Popeye Pelosi…for the past 20 years?

Would that not be taking the Lord’s name in vain? How many Our Father’s and Hail Mary’s would the diocesan bishop, tag the priest that said so?

One of the reasons it wouldn’t work for McCain, from the LATimes write up:

Obama’s advantage, bigger in this poll than in most other national surveys, appears to stem in large part from his positions on domestic issues. Both Democrats and independent voters say Obama would do a better job than McCain at handling the nation’s economic problems, the public’s top concern.

In contrast, many voters give McCain credit as the more experienced candidate and the one best equipped to protect the nation against terrorism — but they rank those concerns below their worries about the economy.

I wouldn’t let Obama run a potato patch, you fucking amoeba brains.

House fails to move gas pump price gouging bill…

Bits:

WASHINGTON (AP) – House Democrats failed Tuesday to resurrect a bill to punish price gouging at the gas pump, while maneuvering to block Republican attempts to expand offshore drilling, an idea gaining in popularity amid $4-a-gallon gas prices.

Action on legislation that would assure continuation of the ban on oil and natural gas drilling in most of the country’s coastal waters was put off until later this summer after it became increasingly clear that Republican lawmakers may have the votes to lift the drilling moratorium.

As Democrats prepared a string of energy proposals before lawmakers depart for the July 4 holiday recess, Republicans charged that they were being blocked from getting a vote on whether to end the ban on offshore oil and gas drilling.

Ahhhh yes Democrats, what can one say about them?________________________.

Them, over country. Good game…AND you still get away with it. Amazing, just God Damn America, amazing.
