Democrats move to stifle free speech

How do they want to do it? By resurrecting the Fairness Doctrine, abolished in 1987.

Thanks to Muslims Against Sharia for putting together a short video on the re-hijacking of Flight 93:

The voice at the beginning is flight attendant CeeCee Lyles.

CeeCee’s family has really struggled without her. One of the many stories that clearly illustrate how much one life matters.

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai: The Source of Terrorism in My Country is Pakistan

Worth a read…

Bits:

Hamid Karzai: “The problem of terrorism, as it is affecting Afghanistan, is not entirely an Afghan problem. As a matter of fact, a greater part of this problem is a regional problem, and a greater part of this problem is unfortunately coming to us from Pakistan. So the Americans, the international coalition – when they say they are continuing to work in Afghanistan, and yet the security is not there, they are right, because they have not gone to the right place to fight terrorism.”

Interviewer: “Which is?”

Hamid Karzai: “Which is the sanctuaries that the terrorists have in Pakistan.”

Interviewer: “But Pakistan, actually, recently… I have noticed that there is a very strong declaration from the Afghan government against Pakistan. You have accused the Pakistani government of being behind your attempted assassination, the last one, and the most dangerous thing is that you have threatened that you would go behind the borders just to find Al-Qaeda, and Taliban as well, which means you will go to Pakistan. Right now, Mr. President, if you don’t have the power to secure the situation in Afghanistan, do you think you have the power to go behind the border?”

Hamid Karzai: “When I said that Afghanistan would go in self defense beyond the Durand Line, [it] was in response to a statement that came from terrorist networks from Pakistan, from someone called Baitullah Mahsoud – you must have heard of him, and from someone called [Maulana] Fazlullah. They declared that they would cross the border and come into Afghanistan, to kill Afghans and the international troops. Now, for me, the president of a sovereign country – when there is a threat issued to me beyond my borders by someone, what is my responsibility?”

Are Muslim Defendants Getting Special Treatment in Court? You bet your ass they are…

An otherwise unremarkable hearing in the Fairfax County, Virginia, general district court last Thursday marked an ominous trend with respect to the cherished American judicial principles of the rule of law and equality before the law. The hearing on four misdemeanor charges against Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Abbasi featured all of the usual players — judge, bailiff, clerks, prosecutors, police officers, criminal attorneys, and defendant — but with one notable addition to the judicial drama, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

CAIR’s intervention in the Abbasi case is a manifestation of a larger campaign against law enforcement to use political alliances and legal threats to intimidate police in cases involving Muslim defendants and to establish separate and preferable treatment for Muslims in the American legal system.

Apology Given

Here’s the lowdown: a white guy takes a book to work to read on his breaks. The book is a non-fiction account of the Ku Klux Klan, a group deservedly criticised by most for their abhorrent, nasty, despicable, disgusting and appalling racism and race-based attacks on innocent citizens. More specifically, the book “recounts a 1924 riot between Notre Dame students and the Klan in which the students from the Catholic university prevailed.”

The man, Keith John Sampson, works at a university, supposedly a place which has the aim of educating and informing people, and the book he was reading is available from the university’s library. So technically, there’s nothing wrong with the book itself other than it’s topic matter.

His judgment was off in choosing to read that particular book on his breaks in my opinion. It’s certainly a subject matter which still has an effect on some people living in the United States, and is close to the heart of many people.

Yet should he have received an official reprimand for reading the book? I don’t think so. I think he’s a mature, intelligent person and, in all likelihood, doesn’t support the KKK in any way. Most people certainly don’t, and I’m going to assume that he doesn’t. I think his aim in educating himself further about the history of his country is a good one. He certainly could have been more sensitive to the feelings of his colleagues and could have read the book at home.

But I think that rather than accusing him of “racial harassment”, the university would have been more responsible in having his manager take him aside for a quiet word and mention that it would be preferred if he not read such material on campus. Most employees are quite responsible if asked nicely. I think the university were wrong in how they handled this.

A Movie for Guys: Live Free or Die Hard

Yeah, Bruce is getting a little long in the tooth for an action hero. That’s what I thought. Then, I watched the movie. Kick-ass, bang-up, high testosterone action, baby! Seriously, I was prepared to be disappointed. I wasn’t.

You may recognize the unintentional and involuntary sidekick: He’s the guy who plays “Mac” in the Mac versus PC ads. He was only an angstrom short of brilliant.

Good beer drinking and cussing flick (I used up the entire Brooklyn Alphabet: Fucking-A, Fucking-B, Fucking-C…). I loved it.

New food challenge…

My other half posted a bit on a food blog about gross foods ect. The usual deep fried mars bars and stuff came up. I sent her a link to some Krispy Kreme hamburgers similar to these ones

My better half said she was game so a lady from the eastern states posted across a dozen of the lard and surgar bombs for us to munch.

The results, including shocking video are below the fold… Read the rest of this entry »
