More Obama Afrosmurfing Astroturfing

Remember the Hillary 1984 ad – a rip-off of an old Apple ad that I dearly loved – that was hailed as the ne plus ultra of grassroots viral video? Astroturf.

More here.

“A couple of weeks ago a parody of Apple’s famous 1984 Super Bowl ad appeared on YouTube and other video sharing sites and, perhaps because of the mystery surrounding its’ origin, became something of an overnight internet phenomenon. Now we know the creator of the parody but a larger mystery is revealed and some serious questions are raised…

Andrea Mitchell and Alex Johnson at MSNBC reveal though that the creator of the “1984” parody ad is none other than Philip de Vellis of marketing firm Blue State Digital which specializes in advising Democratic candidates and liberal groups. Blue State Digital was also responsible for the design and implementation of Barack Obama’s official campagin website whose URL appears at the end of the Clinton smear ad and one of the founding members of the company, Joe Rospars, is employed as the Obama campaign’s Director of New Media.”

Read the whole sordid thing (Both links). Thanks to Jawa Report.

This is not the Smurf we’ve been waiting for (Thanks to Eggz for “Afrosmurf”). LULZ!!1!

They Keep On Digging

This election cycle, there have been some horribly nasty things written and said about Alaskan Governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, ranging from having a fake pregnancy to cover up her eldest daughter’s very real pregnancy, to a severely ugly lesbian claiming Palin would be raped by black men if she went to Manhattan, and including other delightful stuff such as amazingly stupid articles in wide-spread newspapers and even the most filthy sexual fantasies.

I was talking to my best mate earlier, and I mused as part of the conversation “How do these lefties take themselves so seriously?”.

The response I got was absolutely spot on. He responded without a beat with the best explanation I’ve ever read.

“They just go for the lowest common denominator and keep digging.”

Brilliant!

Who is to Blame for the Credit Crisis? Democrats, Without Doubt

I’m a musician, not an economist, so this credit crisis has been an opportunity for me to educate myself a little about monetary and lending policies. What I wanted to know originally was not who to blame, but what policies were to blame.

Here’s the nutshell: Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac were saddled with mountains of bad mortgage loans because Democrat politicians tasked them to lend to people who could not otherwise get credit. Tis debt went bad when real estate prices fell.

1] Why couldn’t these people get credit? Because they were uncreditworthy according to their incomes and/or credit ratings.

2] Why would Democrat politicians order such a thing? Because these people were in their political base, and were overwhelmingly in Democrat controlled political districts.

3] What was the Democrat political rationale? They wanted to buy votes help people.

4] What was the Democrat financial rationale? As long as real estate prices continued to rise, there would be no financial repercussions.

5] So, how did this credit crisis happen? Like I said, real estate prices fell.

This crisis didn’t come without warning signs, however. Back in 2004 and 2005 the FM twins were beset by accounting scandals, and reform was proposed… by John McCain.

“[T]here is one little footnote to the story that’s worth keeping in mind while Democrats point fingers between now and Nov. 4: Senator John McCain was one of the three cosponsors of S.190, the bill that would have averted this mess.”

It probably goes without saying that the reform bill was defeated by Democrat politicians.

“What happened next was extraordinary. For the first time in history, a serious Fannie and Freddie reform bill was passed by the Senate Banking Committee. The bill gave a regulator power to crack down, and would have required the companies to eliminate their investments in risky assets…

If that bill had become law, then the world today would be different. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, a blizzard of terrible mortgage paper fluttered out of the Fannie and Freddie clouds, burying many of our oldest and most venerable institutions. Without their checkbooks keeping the market liquid and buying up excess supply, the market would likely have not existed.

But the bill didn’t become law, for a simple reason: Democrats opposed it on a party-line vote in the committee, signaling that this would be a partisan issue. Republicans, tied in knots by the tight Democratic opposition, couldn’t even get the Senate to vote on the matter.

That such a reckless political stand could have been taken by the Democrats was obscene even then. Wallison wrote at the time: ‘It is a classic case of socializing the risk while privatizing the profit. The Democrats and the few Republicans who oppose portfolio limitations could not possibly do so if their constituents understood what they were doing.'”

So, who were some of the most prominent Democrat politicians involved in derailing this reform legislation? Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Christopher Dodd (That would be the assmaggot shyster now trying to play the role of Knight in Shining Armor in this crisis).

“But we now know that many of the senators who protected Fannie and Freddie, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd, have received mind-boggling levels of financial support from them over the years.

Throughout his political career, Obama has gotten more than $125,000 in campaign contributions from employees and political action committees of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, second only to Dodd, the Senate Banking Committee chairman, who received more than $165,000.

Clinton, the 12th-ranked recipient of Fannie and Freddie PAC and employee contributions, has received more than $75,000 from the two enterprises and their employees. The private profit found its way back to the senators who killed the fix.

There has been a lot of talk about who is to blame for this crisis. A look back at the story of 2005 makes the answer pretty clear.”

Unfuckingbelieveable. You should read the whole article. If a musician can understand it, anyone can.

A Short And Sharp Riddle

Who am I?

I am under 45 years old,
I love the outdoors,
I hunt,
I am a Republican reformer,
I have taken on the Republican Party establishment,
I have many children,
I have a spot on the national ticket as vice president with less than two years in the governor’s office.

Did you guess?

Highlight here for the answer: I am Teddy Roosevelt in 1900

Riddle sourced from this right-wing, gun-totin’ redneck Republican. I, of course, mean that as the compliment it is.

VRWC Plan Coming To Fruition

Naomi Wolf is helping out the VRWC’s plans to get McCain and Palin into the White House by describing what life will be like under an Obama Administration.

I’ll let her take it from here:

Almost everyone I work with on projects related to this campaign for liberty has been experiencing computer harassment: emails are stripped, messages disappear. That’s not all: people’s bank accounts are being tampered with: wire transfers to banks vanish in midair. I personally keep opening bank accounts that are quickly corrupted by fraud. Money vanishes. Coworkers of mine have to keep opening new email accounts as old ones become infected. And most disturbingly to me personally is the mail tampering I have both heard of and experienced firsthand. My tax returns vanished from my mailbox. All my larger envelopes arrive ripped straight open apparently by hand. When I show the postman, he says “That’s impossible.” Horrifyingly to me is the impact on my family. My childrens’ report cards are returned again and again though perfectly addressed; their invitations are turned back; and my daughters many letters from camp? Vanished. All of them. Not one arrived. Try explaining that to a smart thirteen year old. Try explaining it in a way that still makes her feel secure and comfortable.I am not telling you this because it’s about my life. I am telling you this because it is about your life — whoever you are, Conservative or Liberal, independent or evangelical. Your politics will not protect you in a police state. History shows that nothing portects (sic) you in a police state.
…Make no mistake: Sarah “Evita” Palin is Rove and Cheney’s cosmetic rebranding of their fascist push: she will help to establish a true and irreversible “fear society” in this once free once proud nation. For God’s sake, do not let her; do not let them.

Oh wait, what? She was talking about a McCain/Palin Administration? Bwahahahaha

The VRWC is out there doing it’s job then. I suspect Wronwright.

The hilarity of this truly moronic article has also been noted by the Twisted Spinster.

And just for the hell of it, via Detective Paco and the long, long, long reach of Paco Enterprises, we have a brief examination of what may happen if Obama loses the election.
