Oh please

On the CNN International newsbar today…

Australia unveils nation-building budget

So the biggest deficit since World War II, $58 billion, a turnaround from a $20 billion surplus just two years ago, a bill our grandkids’ kids will probably still be paying for, and the likely prospect this deficit will only increase is somehow seen as ‘nation-building’ by CNN. Admittedly, KRudd and the Duck are boosting some infrastructure, but cripes CNN, that’s one hell of an angle you’ve chosen there.

Still, we’ve come to expect this from them, haven’t we?

(PS I’ll put a pic up when I get home from work if ya’ll interested.)

“nation building”? Are we building a new nation, or just an extension out the back? To me, nation building sounds like landfill (ie Holland) or a land grab (lebensraum).

All that debt… nation burdening is a much better description. Or debt building.

  2. Angus Dei Says:

I gues “nation building” is newspeak for “economy destroying.”

Well hesmanaged toout-Whtlam whitlam in less than 2 years.
And if his fantasy forcasts dont come in were even deeper in the hole. Rudd is an economic illiterate.

  4. VodkaBlogger Says:

A former ALP leader in the Fin Review (via Bolta):

“Twelve months ago on budget night, the Government forecast combined surpluses of $79.2 billion in the four financial years to 2011-12. Since then, the net impact of its policy decisions has been to erode the commonwealth’s fiscal position by $97.2 billion over four years. We have not seen economic recklessness like this since Frank Crean’s budgets in 1973 and 1974.”

Something’s gotta be up when Mark Latham starts making sense – but I doubt it’s “nation building”.

Jeez bingbing, talk about taking one for the team… watching the Communist News Network qualifies with bells on.

CNN – fact free and left wing bias rich!

Anyone with half a brain is terrified of the future financial implications of these cretins and their spending borrowed money like a foretopman after running the easting down.

Some of the early guesstimates to FY 12/13 (assuming a second term for Kruddles and the Komical Komrades) are looking at government debt in the $400-$600 BILLION range.

    Gulp!

I watched Barnaby Joyce’s session at the National Press Club and he made a lot of very pertinent sense about the scale of the fiscal catastrophe this government is working so diligently on. let us work towards making this a one-term government.

Is it any wonder that in order to keep my sanity, I lurk around Rethuglican blogs?

Had the option of BBC too a while back. Oh joy.

And because this idjet got a laptop with Vista, bloody Fox doesn’t play on TVU.

  6. nilk Says:

You know it’s bad when 20 year olds who admit to no political or economical knowledge are getting depressed and pissed off about the budget.

They are worried about who’s going to pay back the debt, and suspect it’s them.

    They’re right.

    • bingbing Says:

Indeed they are… and a few other folks, too.

Nothing to shout from the rooftops yet, but this is a good sign. As usual, the prick is spinning like a top.

  7. bingbing Says:

On a side note, and I haven’t bothered to fact-check this, but an American mate noted last weekend that in just five months, Obama has managed to spend more than every other POTUS combined.

    Astounding.
