Aussie Ian Plimer: “Global Warming is the New Religion of First World Urban Elites.”

Here’s an Australian I actually like (As opposed to those who post and comment here. LOL!):

Humans are hard wired to be religious – that’s just a self-evident fact – and if you give up one form of religion, another will take it’s place. For the AGW crowd, this means that since Christianity and Judaism are pase and un-PC, Anthropomorphic Global Warming is the new politically correct religion.

“Ian Plimer has outraged the ayatollahs of purist environmentalism, the Torquemadas of the doctrine of global warming, and he seems to relish the damnation they heap on him.

Plimer is a geologist, professor of mining geology at Adelaide University, [Mole must be this guy – Beef] and he may well be Australia’s best-known and most notorious academic.

Plimer, you see, is an unremitting critic of “anthropogenic global warming” — man-made climate change to you and me — and the current environmental orthodoxy that if we change our polluting ways, global warming can be reversed.”

Read the whole enchilada. We need more men like this, standing athwart politically correct and factually wrong PC dogma, yelling, “Bullshit!”

Here’s an earlier diatribe of his which hits every possible nail on the head. Again, digest the entire enchilada.

Fuck leftard urban elites. They don’t know Dick Johnson about Doodly Squat.

I missed an opportunity to meet the bloke at a meeting only last week. My work days unfortunately took me through the day he was holding a public meeting here in Kalgoorlie.

Im having a little fun at Lav Prodeo (where I behave myself) by asking “what would disprove AGW to people there. No responses other than this

Mole, you’ve also got to factor in the consequences of inaction into the assessment of data.

If , for example, despite the existing scientific evidence, you personally would ONLY be satisfied by a longitudinal study over the next 30 years – well, what if if turned out todays’s scientists were actually right, and waiting for that study took us through the tipping point?

Why would policy makers be wise to adopt your approach?

See – even if I am wrong, cleaning up carbon emissions will do no harm. Clean the air up a bit, less pollution, fewer illnesses among kids, etc. No problemo.

If you are wrong, however: life on this planet could well be reduced to a few green sites supporting half a billion people – instead of 6 billion – by next century.

You see why doubt-mongers are losing this debate? And that that is a good thing?

So get that, dont dispute the science as it stands now, mitigation will cost nothing, and deniers hate the Ciiiildren… but no answer yet. Pretty well sums up the Pro AGW position for me, fantasy.

Afternoon Mole, you have a good take on the whole AGW/MMCC/ACC/MMGW/Climate Crisis/Weather Event/Climate Event/Man Made Climate Crisis/Climate Crisis/We’re Gonna Die etc.

You post on lavatory Rodeo???, a bit like preaching to the perverted.

Its all downhill from there 20+ comments and no direct reply to that simple question.
I behave myself over there, no wiping my nob on the curtains or molesting the livestock, still it is quite possible to have a bit of fun tweaking their sensitive parts,,,,

In response to those pro AGWs that say “…even if wrong, cleaning up carbon emissions will do no harm…” I would point them to the book “Cool It” by Bjorn Lomborg (short easy read and in paperback), where he shows the costs of trying to reduce CO2 and very small reduction in temperatures. Basically, a big waste and would be better spent on adapting to the slightly higher temps. Better to concentrate on clean water, nutritiaon ,malaria, etc.

Agreed. He says that in a great little TED presentation he did a while back, too.

Well, SAY something...
