Globe Cools while Warmists Burn

WASHINGTON — Two years ago, a United Nations scientific panel won the Nobel Peace Prize after concluding that global warming is “unequivocal” and is “very likely” caused by man.

Then came a development unforeseen by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, or IPCC: Data suggested that Earth’s temperature was beginning to drop.

That has reignited debate over what has become scientific consensus: that climate change is due not to nature, but to humans burning fossil fuels. Scientists who don’t believe in man-made global warming cite the cooling as evidence for their case. Those who do believe in man-made warming dismiss the cooling as a blip triggered by fleeting changes in ocean currents; they predict greenhouse gases will produce rising temperatures again soon.

The reality is more complex. A few years of cooling doesn’t mean that people aren’t heating up the planet over the long term. But the cooling wasn’t predicted by all the computer models that underlie climate science. That has led to one point of agreement: The models are imperfect.

Emphasis added.

I have been saying for years and years that trusting man-made computer models to predict something like long term climate changes – a system so complex and with so many variables that many of the variables are unknown – is a folly that only a simpleton or an over-confident and hubris-filled scientist would fall for. Well, Al Gore leads the simpleton brigade – as brain dead as any roving pack of zombies – and it’s hard to pick any one scientist as a leader, since warmist science’s primary goal seems to be to get press coverage and terrorize children through hyperbolic releases these days.

The good sign is that zero-IQ, fat-ass shyster Al Gore’s proclamation that, “the science is settled” is no longer the coin of the realm.

Supervillans unmasked!!!

Police used all their cunning to bring to justice a pair of master criminals. Full kudos to the constabulary for their swift work in penetrating the disguises of these Jokers in training…

Yes thats magic marker.... mensa refused to confirm or deny if this pair are active members.

Two accused burglars in the US who covered their faces with permanent marker as a disguise were arrested soon after an apartment robbery with their faces still blackened.

Only in Texas??

Al-Albion update, Uk gets shariah courts.

From the Times online

ISLAMIC law has been officially adopted in Britain, with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.

The government has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.

Well hes been proven 100% correct, nice one England.

It should be unneccessary to point out the evils this will bring to the community at large, and specifically to women. But here goes anyway.

Rulings issued by a network of five sharia courts are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court.

So a group of religious men (and it will always be men), will make ruling based on Mohammed’s desert survival guide, and regardless of how unfair it is the existing courts system will back it to the hilt?

This is justice?

Siddiqi said: “We realised that under the Arbitration Act we can make rulings which can be enforced by county and high courts. The act allows disputes to be resolved using alternatives like tribunals. This method is called alternative dispute resolution, which for Muslims is what the sharia courts are.”

Crap and bollocks, they are a method of ensuring religious control in a secular society. It is an act of extreme negligence that the government in the Uk hasnt legislated to close off this loophole. It allows disputes which should be managed by the courts in a unbiased manner to be open to abuse.

(there are quite a few youtubes on this subject…worth a look by itself.

Man bites dog

A SOUTH Korean worker defected to North Korea this week after crossing the heavily fortified land border, Pyongyang’s state media said on Tuesday.

As a mate who alerted me to this said, “What an idiot.”

Man-made CO2

Anthropogenic CO2 – around only 5% of all CO2 – runs at about 15 ppm – that’s fifteen parts per million or 0.0015% – of the earth’s atmosphere. How batshit crazy do you have to be to think that reducing that 0.0015% will make even the slightest difference to average global temperature, especially when you have that big orange ball in the sky – our sun – constantly changing its output? Let alone changes in the earth’s orbit and wobble, and natural changes in ocean temperatures.

And yet Copenhagen is barely more than a month away. Potentially lots of money for some but certainly not for us.

And back in Australia, Rudd still wants to impose a massive job-killing tax on everything and everyone. A massive tax because Australia produces about 1.5% of total global man-made carbon dioxide output. Yes, that’s 1.5% of 15 ppm – 0.0000225% of the atmosphere.

Astounding. And insidious.

Having trouble vizualizing those numbers? Here’s a good vid to help out.

Divide the smaller of the two amounts of red rice by about 65 and you’ll get Australia’s contribution. Yeah, that’s right. Time to break out the HD plasma.

And just in case you haven’t seen this yet.

There’s a new study out suggesting even Neptune might play a part in climate change on Earth.

The point is this: with so many variables that we likely don’t fully understand – sun, oceans, orbits, wobbles, cosmic rays, possibly even the other planets now, and most probably a whole host of others we don’t yet know about, all going about their various cycles and cycles within cycles – to go to all this bother and consequent pain (if Al Gore et. al. get their way) all over a piddly amount of man-made CO2 is utterly, utterly ridiculous.

H/T Reader Greg over at Bolt’s palace.

Racist Muslim Students in Kabul Burn Obama in Effigy

Hope? Nope.

As usual, the charge is that Americans allegedly burned a Koran.

Islam and Obama are both so far beyond parody that it’s impossible to post this stuff with a straight face. EPIC… Epic… epic… FAIL… Fail… fail (That’s Sports Stadium Announcer Echo – SSAE – for those of you unfamiliar with the format).

H/T Instapundit.

Teh Interwebs

“That was the day this baby was born,” Mr Kleinrock said.

And yes, by ARPANET, a branch of the US military, no less.

Sorry, Al.*

*And, yes. That link was checked before posting.

Mr Kleinrock, Mr Cerf… have we some debate?

This whole Internet shamozzle – ARPANET, Kleinrock, Cerf, Gore – has some weird names behind it!

PPS Oh yeah, and the Interwebs turns 40 around now.

A nice little earner….

Most people here will have seen Monkton’s little speech about the perils of signing up to the new UN climate change treaty.

Be sure to check out Lord Monkton’s own powerpoint display…. I wonder if he can get an Oscar if he films it?

Some of his figures appear to be quite devastating

What most people probably dont know is just how much of an income stream the UN is already receiving from the “processing fees” attached to issuing those credits.

From the UNs own background paper.

C. Share of proceeds to cover administrative expenses
7. At COP/MOP.1 Parties decided6 that the share of proceeds to cover administrative expenses of the CDM shall be:
(a) USD 0.10 per CER issued for the first 15,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent for which issuance is requested in a given calendar year;
(b) USD 0.20 per CER issued for any amount in excess of 15,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent for which issuance is requested in a given calendar year.
8. These arrangements are to be reviewed at the next session of the COP/MOP.
9. The share of proceeds to cover administrative expenses takes the form of cash rather than CERs, at least initially. Cash payments were specified because continued operation of the CDM needed immediate funds and a predictable cash flow. Collection and sale of CERs as the share of proceeds to cover administrative expenses might yield more, or less, revenue. But the timeneeded to implement a system to sell the CERs collected would certainly have delayed receipt of urgently needed funds.7
10. The COP/MOP decision relating to the share of proceeds for administrative expenses does not limit its decision on the share of proceeds to assist in meeting the costs of adaptation; the share of proceeds to assist in meeting the costs of adaptation could be collected as CERs reflecting decisions 17/CP.7, 19/CP.9 and 12/CP.10 or as a cash payment if so specified by a future COP/MOP decision.

Now coming from the mob who oversaw “oil for food” under Saddam it doesnt exactly fill me with confidence.

It is difficult (well for me anyway) to find out just how much of the carbon market is made up of UN certified carbon credits. However for conveniences sake I will use Wikis figures.

Market trend

Carbon emissions trading has been steadily increasing in recent years. According to the World Bank’s Carbon Finance Unit, 374 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) were exchanged through projects in 2005, a 240% increase relative to 2004 (110 mtCO2ewhich was itself a 41% increase relative to 2003 (78 mtCO2e).In terms of dollars, the World Bank has estimated that the size of the carbon market was 11 billion USD in 2005, 30 billion USD in 2006and 64 billion in 2007

So if I was to be conservative and use 2005 figures, at the lower rate of .20 USD per tonne how much does that yield in play money for the UN?

Nearly $74,000,000 USD using 2005 figures. It can be assumed the figures are actually much, much higher given the massive growth in trading since then.

Now can somebody tell me how this isnt a form of taxation payable to the UN directly? After all it is based on energy, the most essential part of any economic activity, if this treaty is enacted and followed just how is this not a global consumption tax?

And we are supposed to embrace the UN climate change statistics as a neutral player in this game? The UN is pushing as hard as it can to obtain a revenue stream free from pesky things like donor nations, this will allow it to do so.

If its PACO industries, it of an assured quality...

If its PACO industries, its of an assured quality...

We are told we cant trust certain scientists because they are just shills in the service of big oil/coal etc. I remain unconvinced why I should trust the UNs paid shills when they have just as much, possibly more riding on it as well.

Is there a leftist bias in Australias Human rights commission?

Do bears??

Ive had a little look at the Australian human rights commissions “teaching aids”, which they provide to teachers and students. For the most part its all bleeding heart lefty “kumbyah” wankery. However there are enough questionable or leading resources included to bring into serious question the “impartiality” of the items provided for education. Lets face it, a teaching resource that favourably mentions Lenin cant be all bad eh!

Cultural Differences

There’s cultural differences and then there’s cultural differences. And thank goodness some cultures are becoming a little more Western. Anecdotally, I can tell you the following kind of stuff is happening much less in Korea nowadays and certainly not in schools anymore… or barely. There’s probably a few recent cases someone could dig up if they really wanted to.

A KOREAN man who beat his teenage sister-in-law for not doing homework or running fast enough has avoided jail thanks to cultural differences in discipline.

But no real punishment at all? What a crock. The man was in Australia, under Australian Law. You can’t just say, oh it’s okay in my home country so I should be allowed to do it here. Just follow that “logic”. For example, the age of consent in South Korea is 13. Do the math.

The Australian legal system has failed that adolescent girl. Shame on them and shame on Judge David Searls.

And speaking of which, Judge David Searls has a bit of a track record when it comes to not adequately protecting our children.

A Brisbane judge spared him a criminal conviction so as not to jeopardise his future career, but the would-be doctor who tried to give an 11-year-old boy a penis massage might not be so lucky a second time.

Dear oh dear, David.

That said, he’s arguably not as bad as some Korean Judges.

New Eco-Warrior Battle Cry: Eat the Dog!

At first, I thought this just had to be a joke.

“The eco-pawprint of a pet dog is twice that of a 4.6-litre Land Cruiser driven 10,000 kilometres a year, researchers have found.

Victoria University professors Brenda and Robert Vale, architects who specialise in sustainable living, say pet owners should swap cats and dogs for creatures they can eat, such as chickens or rabbits, in their provocative new book Time to Eat the Dog: The real guide to sustainable living.

The couple have assessed the carbon emissions created bypopular pets, taking into account the ingredients of pet food and the land needed to create them.

“If you have a German shepherd or similar-sized dog, for example, its impact every year is exactly the same as driving a large car around,” Brenda Vale said.

“A lot of people worry about having SUVs but they don’t worry about having Alsatians and what we are saying is, well, maybe you should be because the environmental impact … is comparable.”

In a study published in New Scientist, they calculated a medium dog eats 164 kilograms of meat and 95kg of cereals every year. It takes 43.3 square metres of land to produce 1kg of chicken a year. This means it takes 0.84 hectares to feed Fido.

They compared this with the footprint of a Toyota Land Cruiser, driven 10,000km a year, which uses 55.1 gigajoules (the energy used to build and fuel it). One hectare of land can produce 135 gigajoules a year, which means the vehicle’s eco-footprint is 0.41ha – less than half of the dog’s.”

What. the. fuck. next?

“They found cats have an eco-footprint of 0.15ha – slightly less than a Volkswagen Golf. Hamsters have a footprint of 0.014ha – keeping two of them is equivalent to owning a plasma TV.

Professor Vale says the title of the book is meant to shock, but the couple, who do not have a cat or dog, believe the reintroduction of non-carnivorous pets into urban areas would help slow down global warming.”

What are, “non-carnivorous pets” you ask?

“”The title of the book is a little bit of a shock tactic, I think, but though we are not advocating eating anyone’s pet cat or dog there is certainly some truth in the fact that if we have edible pets like chickens for their eggs and meat, and rabbits and pigs, we will be compensating for the impact of other things on our environment.”

Professor Vale took her message to Wellington City Council last year, but councillors said banning traditional pets or letting people keep food animals in their homes were not acceptable options.”

I guess we’ll be hearing more ridiculous stories like how these fucking retards spent £2,000 to save their pet chicken.

Just look at those pathetic brain-stems. We want to encourage this kind of crap?

Conserving Conservatives

Shhh! Gallup Reports That Conservatives Outnumber Libs in All 50 States; Media Plays Dumb

Thanks to some guy called TGordon… and by default, Mr Andrew Bolt.

Is Democracy not for everyone?

First reaction: bullshit.

Anyway, the BBC via Australia has launched into a bona fide debate on it all. Interesting….

Obama gets in. China’s rich. And now we’re questioning democracy… lest we mention who Obama’s press secretary admires so much.

And a note on that. Dunn said it. It’s on tape. Yet try to google a news story about it from a major news source? Almost nada. Why is that? Because a close aid to Obama, his communications director, quotes Mao as her number 1 political idol?

Oh dear, America. Oh dear, England. Oh dear, Australia.

And whatever happened to the fourth estate?

Islam and game shows

Hey, who doesn’t love a good game show? And what’s a game show without prizes?

“<a href="By Matt Townsend

Oct. 17 (Bloomberg) — The Canadian dollar rallied for a third straight week, touching a 14-month high and moving closer to parity with its U.S. counterpart as signs of economic recovery pushed commodities and stocks higher.

Canada’s currency gained as crude oil, the nation’s largest export, surged 10 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average surpassed 10,000 for the first time in a year.”

How are you Ozzies doing?

Not far behind Canada, actually.

I’d much rather Obama try to achieve parity with the GB Pound Sterling. LOL!

Convenient Lies

Just assume when a leftard opens their mouth or writes anything that it’s a lie. You’ll be right nearly 100% of the time. Perennial libtard whipping boy Rush Limbaugh is again the victim of lying leftards and the lying pieces of shit who enable them.

Here’s the best redux of the latest exhibition of leftist psychopathy.

“Which public figure can be quoted as having said something bigoted and disgusting and it doesn’t matter whether he did or not because he might have? Who can Big Media brand a racist without checking the facts? Who has to prove he did not say something racist, rather than the accuser proving he did?

A pat on the back for anyone who guessed the answer: Rush Limbaugh (OK, the blog headline was a clue). From CNN to MSNBC to ABC, it’s been put about that Limbaugh said this:

I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

It’s also been spread around that he said this, about the death of the man who assassinated Martin Luther King:

You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honour? James Earl Ray. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

Trouble is, he didn’t say either of these outrageous things. And it wasn’t difficult to check, as protein wisdom shows here. They originated from, er, Wikipedia and Wikiquotes. Both quotes ended up in this book – a hit job that doesn’t cite any sources. They’re also included in this internet list posted a year ago and endlessly ripped off ever since.
The irony is, of course, that the people reporting this as fact are the same types who are always denouncing bloggers and the internet as forces of evil intent on destroying proper journalism – proper journalism being the kind that involves checking facts. In the case of Rush Limbaugh, however, it seems to be enough that the intention (i.e. to show the talk radio host is a racist) is considered pure.”

Fake but accurate!

I hope Rush sues the living fucking shit out of each and every one of these God damned, cock sucking leftard morons and forces printed, spoken, and aired apologies out of each and every one of them. SFLT’s can’t make a single point with the truth, so they’ve become serial, pathological liars.

Bob Carter:

In contrast to this small (and still hypothetical) risk of damage from human-caused climate change, there exists a certainty that gross socio-economic damage is already resulting from global warming activism, and is set to get worse.

Merv Bendle:

The accelerating moral panic about alleged global warming and its projected catastrophic effects is a fundamentally religious phenomenon. Despite its pretensions, it is not primarily about science. Rather, it represents the emergence of a new religious movement (an NRM, or what used to be called a ‘cult’). This new form of eco-fundamentalism is characterized by a widely excessive faith in science, a hatred and despair at Humanity, an intolerance of opposition or even skepticism, and a near hysterical form of secular Apocalypticism.

The director, Phelim McAleer:

Spain believed the hype about environmental regulation creating “green jobs” and boosting the economy. Now 18 percent of Spaniards have no jobs. Our own country – Ireland – has the Green Party in government who are pushing for a “carbon tax”. This will increase the price of every good and service on an island that is enduring 13 per cent unemployment. The increased costs will drive out jobs during one of the worst recessions in living memory.

A similar fate awaits Australia if it follows Europe’s lead. Eighty percent of Australia’s energy comes from coal, and the country exported $45 billion worth of it last year. Tens of thousands of jobs in the energy sector are at stake if Parliament adopts ETS to cap carbon dioxide.

Oh, and just in case.

David Flint:

In any event …i t is becoming increasingly evident that support for the fundamentalist global warming agenda is soft. Indeed the BBC now concedes there has not been any evidence of global warming since 1998, notwithstanding the increasing amount of carbon emissions. That’s why the fundamentalists are trying to change the name of their secular religion to climate change.

Once the electorate understands the massive impact on their lives of an ETS, and the fact that it won’t affect global carbon emissions [nor global warming, nor climate change – bing], they will obviously reject it. In 1998, the promise of the GST almost brought down the government. This was a far more benign, almost harmless substitute for other taxes including those ones curiously found invalid by the High Court.

Fox is Obama’s enemy

Not just conjecture, it’s official.

“We’re going to treat [fox] the way we would treat an opponent.”

That was Anita Dunn, White House communications director.

“They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that’s fine. But let’s not pretend they’re a news network the way CNN is.”

AHAHAHAHA! Let’s not forget, thousands of jokes were made about Bush and whoever else but one, just one, is made about Obama and CNN goes and fact-checks it.

Meanwhile, Fox News’ ratings continue to soar.

Green slimers

Yeeha!! Ive found a motherlode of moronity, a vein of stupidity so deep and wide it may never run out.

I present

Climate Justice Fast!

What are they? Well they are a group of swampies who are going to fast for various length of time during the Copenhagen summit to add “moral pressure”. Their objectives?

Climate Justice Fast! will therefore serve three important purposes:

1. Raising awareness. (Because we know no-one has heard of the problem yet, right?)

An international hunger strike is a new, exciting and newsworthy action, with enormous potential for capturing attention. If taken up by the mainstream media, it will send a powerful message to members of the public who are as yet unaware of the importance of the issue. (Its old and worn out, and unless a few of you die nowhere near newsworthy in any form other than “freaks of the week” sections of news broadcasts)

2. Providing inspiration.

Climate Justice Fast! also has enormous potential to inspire those who are already aware of the climate issue to become more politically active. By putting our bodies on the line we will lead by example and show the level of commitment and courage that the climate crisis requires from us all. (Short of wandering around in sandwich boards proclaiming “the end is nigh” I can think of no better thing for you to do. I can then apply Margos Maids reverse retard index and make a killing backing what you think is bad)

3. Sending the strongest possible message to our leaders. (What message is that? “our education system is a shambles? My tax money pays for these professional bludgers?)

Our act will also serve as a powerful reminder to our political, social and economic leaders of the importance, and moral consequences, of their decisions on climate change. (The message being, “you are following the advice of a smelly unwashed hippie with delusions of grandeur”)

Emusing tales

Years ago I worked on an emu farm, I spotted an adult and 3 chicks running around the minesite today which jogged my memory of a few tales…

This clip is of an emu chucking a wobbly. The farm I worked on had a big pen of about 25 juvenile emus for the tourists to have a look at. I learnt a little trick, if you whistle at a certain tone, then vary it a bit it makes the whole mob carry on like the one in the above clip.

Emu attacks!! I still have a scar on the palm of my hand from one bird. The big middle toe on the things can be quite sharp and they kick with quite a lot of force.

On one occasion I was showing some tourists around the nesting area while the fathers were on the eggs. (as usual the poor blokes get left to do the hard work)… I went into a pen to lift the back of an emu up so they could get a few photos/ a look at the clutch of eggs. Knowing this was a fairly cranky emu I picked up a good sized stick to give it a whack if it went for me. Well it jumped up and had a go at me so I swung my arm back with the stick in it to give it a whack when the stick broke off in my hand leaving me with about 15mm of wood left.. The tourists had fun watching me running around and dodging the bloody thing until I got out of the pen..
