WTF! Prejudiced Danes provoke fanaticism Guardian shocker.

This article is so backwards it lowers your IQ looking at it.

Nevertheless its begging for a world class Fisking.

Hello, my skull smells funny, I think the contents have reached their expiry date.

First the CV of the wibbling wuckwit who wrote this trash. See if you can play PC bingo.

Nancy Graham Holm was educated at the University of California, Berkeley and London School of Economics. She was a television journalist between 1972 and 1991 and has won many awards including three Emmys. She became a journalism educator in 1991 at the national school of journalism in Aarhus, Denmark. She retired from teaching in 2007. She is writing a book on feminism in the Abraham religions, including the “gender jihad” among Muslim women world-wide

Of course she is….

The originals.

Prejudiced Danes provoke fanaticism

On New Year’s Day, Kurt Westergaard and his granddaughter came close to losing their lives when an axe-wielding fanatic forced his way into their house. It was the latest in a string of attempted attacks that can be traced directly to the offence caused by Westergaard’s cartoons for Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten in 2005.

Incorrect, the attacks can be traced directly to an intolerant mediaeval mindset of a group of people who live their life based on a desert survival guide written by a madman with a “holy mole“.

More below the fold.

One of these cartoons depicted the prophet Muhammad in a turban with a stick of dynamite protruding from the top.

False, it depicted Mo with his turban as a bomb, is this grovelling bint trying to criticize cartoons she never seen, or does she get the vapours looking at them?

Muslims failed to see Westergaard’s cartoon as satire. Instead, they saw in it a defamatory and humiliating message: Muslims are terrorists. Humiliation is a devastating feeling. But most people who are insulted will accept an apology. If an apology had been forthcoming from the then prime minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, that probably would have been the end to it – but none came, and the humiliation was compounded.

Who is “Muslims”? Is it Mr Muslim or Mrs Muslin you are referring to? Is Muslims a solid block of worker ants, stung into reflex action by a kid poking their nest with a stick?

Id be guessing the most humiliating thing should be the fact that thousands of individual Muslims went ape shit crazy over bugger all. The same sort of embarrassment a Catholic moderate might feel seeing snake handling and speaking in tongues in a backwoods church. It is a massive source of shame that one of the worlds “great” religions thinks violence and bloodshed is a rational response to a bit of ridicule.

So it seems rational to you, strange old lady, for the Prime Minister of a country to apologise for what an independent newspaper published? Leaving aside the sheer stupidity of the protests themselves, does it really seem like a good idea for him to debase his office apologising to a bunch of beardie weirdies whos prophet shagged a 9 year old? Id suggest that Mr RASMUSSEN might have felt humiliated for being forced into the apology, would that justify him turning the police loose to beat all Muslims till the ayatollah apologised?

Three months later several imams packed their briefcases and laptops and booked flights to the Middle East. They carried with them a 43-page document, created by a group of Danish Muslim clerics from multiple organisations. This so-called Akkari-Laban dossier was designed to present their case and solicit support for their outrage. Denmark became an “enemy of Islam” and this resulted in the nation’s worst foreign policy crisis since the second world war.

Ah, that document, the one that included pictures which werent in the paper , the ones showing Mo as a pedophile and a person praying being shagged by a dog?? Leaving aside the absolute historical accuracy of the pedophile charge (which can be made against an enormous range of historical figures, just generally not the founders of religions), the dog and sketch arent even well done, and arent in the same tone as the original cartoons.

And there you go with that monolithic block of “Islam”, pretty well conceding to all moderate Muslims that they are not “pure” as they dont rage when commanded.

Falsely added pic

Why did the editors of Jyllands-Posten want to mock Islam in this way?

Why not?  They mock politicians, police and other authority figures every day, yet their “humiliation” doesnt trigger the sort of irrational violence it did for groups of individuals who call themselves Muslims.

Some of us believed it was in bad taste and also cruel.

Heres a cup of cement, drink it and harden the fuck up sweetheart.

2nd false pic.

Intentional humiliation is an aggressive act.

Boo fucking hoo, I can only hope you feel humiliated by my response to you pleading for a bunch of bigots. windowlicking hag.

As a journalist now living in the same town as Westergaard, I thought some at Jyllands-Posten had acted like petulant adolescents.

So by raising the serious issue of self censorship in your media it was the equal of acting like adolescents? Big whoops for you “living in the same town”.

Danes fail to perceive the fact that they have developed a society deeply suspicious of religion. This is the real issue between Denmark and Muslim extremists, not freedom of speech. The free society precept is merely an attempt to give the perpetrators the moral high ground when actually it is a smokescreen for a deeply rooted prejudice, not against Muslims, but against religion per se. Muslims are in love with their faith. And many Danes are suspicious of anyone who loves religion.

So suspicion of an irrational belief system, developed by a 12 century pedophile, demanding the subjugation of all humanity to its creed is now a bad thing? Id be inclined to think this mole wouldnt write a similar screed about the Catholics..

On the last day of the American Society for Muslim Advancement’s conference in 2006, Flemming Rose, Jyllands-Posten’s cultural editor, who commissioned the Muhammad cartoons, agreed to meet the delegates and took more than an hour of questions. I witnessed this exchange and admired his honesty.

“Are you not at all religious?” someone asked him. “No. Most Danes are not religious,” he responded. “Well then … can’t you at least respect religious people?” “No, not really,” Rose answered candidly. “Generally speaking, I think Danes are a little suspicious of religious people.”

So the bloke who’s paper you condemn as a “petulant adolescent” engaged in an hour of rational dialogue with (apparently rational, and not violent) Muslim individuals? Why can you see the massive contrast between rational Muslim believers having a Q&A session with Flemming Rose, and the violence and mayhem of other Muslims? You have become so enamoured of the noble savage myth you see the violent reaction as more “pure, noble and from the heart”, rather than what it should be, actions to be condemned by secularists and moderate Muslims alike as irrational and stupid.

Danes are no more racist than any other western nation but many of them, especially intellectuals, have serious issues with religious believers. Westergaard has been visiting America and giving talks about his role in the 2005 Muhammad cartoon crisis. In New York on 30 September he told the audience that Muslims need to develop a sense of humour and an appreciation of satire. They need to understand that they are not “free of being mocked or being offended“.

Exactly, you can’t priviledge a group because some of its adherents act violently and irrationally. To do so would overthrow the progress of the last 100 or more years. Again I would guess this idiot wouldnt claim the same priviledge for Catholics if a few nuns started threatening to sharpen their rosaries and saw off heads. If she did shed at least be consistent, still dumb as a pile of puppy poop, but consistent…

Watching the nightly news in February 2006 was a shocking affair for most Danes. They watched their flag burning in the streets of Damascus, Beirut and Tehran.

Yes I can imagine it was quite shocking to see mass stupidity in action… bit like watching lemmings go over a cliff…

They cringed as demonstrators screamed violent slogans and rioters attacked their embassies. Police fired on the crowds, resulting in more than 100 deaths.

Hmm the way shes worded it she seems to be suggesting the deaths were due to police actions solely against other Muslims, lets check that eh? I could add a lot but its much easier just to direct you to Atlas’ post.

Now the Danes won’t back down and the few but fatally insane radical extremists will continue the fight.

But wait, I thought it was the “Muslims” not just a few radicals??? Get you story straight donkey, without the fanatics its a civilised dispute, which, funnily enough, is all the “west” expects when it make fun of religious nutters.

The first major reaction came in January 2008 when Danish police arrested a cell of extremists that were accused of planning Westergaard’s assassination.

Ummm, the first major reaction was probably the rioting, boycotts of goods and general fuckwittery that happened, not the assassination attempts.

There are 87 men in Denmark with the name Kurt Westergaard and all of them now have police protection.

Well god forbid a beardie weirdie should actually check hes got the right target eh?

Four months later, suicide bombers attacked the Danish embassy in Islamabad, injuring 30 and killing six. Al-Qaida took credit for the attack, claiming it was retaliation for the cartoons and the 700 Danish troops in Afghanistan. In October 2008, two men were convicted in Danish courts of preparing a terrorist attack.

This time, Westergaard’s attacker was caught – but someone else is out there waiting for an opportunity to strike again.

Is it just me or does the last line of that article seem like “and good riddance to him as well”??

I think ill close with a quote just for you.

The official Tizonas spokespig says...

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom we ask not your counsel or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands of those who feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you and may we forget that ye were our countrymen.” (Samuel Adams)

    Aarhus?
    Anywhere near East Bumcrack?

What an idiot. Nothing bugs me more than stupid lefty apologists. Thanks for telling it how it is.

  3. bernie Says:

An apology only works on civilized peoples. Muslims have been unhappy since the Crusades and these Muslims infesting Denmark went out of their way to instigate trouble. They do not want apologies, they want an Islamic Europe.

Well, SAY something...
