Now funnily enough I happen to live in the town where this has just happened.

 

This may be the furthest south any group has landed, to put it in perspective, if it was the east coast they would have been landing just south of Brisbane.

So I thought id take the opportunity to have a poke at an Australian Senator, the man who described dismantling the old system (which saw refugee boat arrivals at single digits) as his “moment of “greatest satisfaction”.

 

 

Good day, this may come across as a little gloating but Im just mailing to inform you I told you so.

Some years ago now you called for submissions into the detention/refugee system, I put in a submission based on 5 years of working in the detention field and seeing its failings and traps.
You were the minister responsible at the time, I initially hoped your inquiry might be a genuine one. Silly i know.

My submission was rejected on the grounds my “information was out of date” and similar tosh.
I responded and received a borderline rude dismissal.

So here comes my gloat, nearly EVERY thing you did which has hurt your government with regards to immigration could have been easily avoided if you had been less of a fool and actually taken submissions from people who had seen the previous fuck ups and successes.

Your own ideological stupidity and arrogance made a rod for your own parties back. Your “greatest satisfaction” has become just one of your governments signature failures. If you have any ounce of intellectual curiosity I could still give you a workable solution to you asylum impasse gathered from years of talking with refugees themselves. But hey, you know better don’t you mate?

I currently live in Geraldton, as you may be aware we had a boatload turn up in the harbor here today.
Now I know you’ve moved on, your obvious stuff up notwithstanding, but just think of me as the slave who stood at Caesars ear whispering, “Respice te, hominem te memento” or “Look behind you, remember you are only a man”, some of us remember your past, even if you like to forget.

Which Republican presidential nominee?

Having just spent an hour or so watching the New Hampshire GOP Republican debate, having gleaned various tidbits over the internet since a while back, I can honestly say I don’t know.

Yet.

In comments at that link, Ron Paul’s supporters come across as a tad too fervent, as does Paul himself. He just comes across as a bit whiney. Quick to complain about a problem but a bit wishy washy with any solutions.

Romney arguably won, but he comes off as Obama-lite+religion. He’s big government but I will say he’s tending to own his opponents. He does look presidential and has the establishment’s backing… not necessarily a good thing when up against Obama who REALLY has the Establishment’s backing and REALLY (at least) talks presidential (except here where he sounds about as formidable as Julia Gillard).

Where’s Big Counterjihad When You Need It?

Over at Gov and Vlad Tepes a call has gone out for assistance. The remarkable Fjordman is in somewhat straightened circumstances, so a few of us are helping put the word out for him. He hasn’t had a blog of his own for years, although that has not stopped his productivity. What did slow him down, however, was the Norwegian gunman Breivik naming him (among others) as being a bit of an inspiration*. I personally think that Breivik’s ‘manifesto’ is a load of tripe. Breivik talks of christianity, say’s he’s not one, and yet gets wheeled out as being a fundamentalist christian. As someone who is into Extreme Popery, I call bullshite. In the meantime, and along with everything else, Fjordman has now pretty much lost everything – job, home, country. I’ve got a cat he could have, but that’s no use when there’s nowhere to keep it. He does have a few (for him) words over at Vlad’swhich I’ll paste here:

This is not quite a twilight bark – more a twilight blog. *very interesting review of Breivik’s ‘manifesto’ by someone of the left-persuasion. I’m not sure she’s read the Reliance, or the hadiths or the Hedaya, but that’s only to be expected. A few weeks with HuT might help her with a few things. Like the fact that muslims believe that sharia law is Allah’s Law for all men for all time, so whether she agrees with it or not is irrelevant. That’s not conspiracy theory, neither is it conspiracy that a man has been hounded out of his home for writing some hard-hitting essays that focus on the Decline and Fall of Western Civilisation. The dogs that dont bark.

During the reign of the eeeevil HoWARd regime a asylum seeker vessel the SIEV X (suspected illegal entry vessel 10) foundered in international/Indonesian waters with great loss of life.

Refugee advocates and Labour pollies were in arms about it for years, school “learning projects”, etc. Culminating in a shocking book accusing the Australian government of deliberately sinking the vessel (which won awards from state governments), and the territory government of Canberra erecting their own memorial (covered by legislation in the territory parliament) on the shores of lake Burley Griffin.

Acres of print and hours of angst all aimed at demonizing the Howard government. Id hate to accuse those involved of politically motivated moral grandstanding… much.

First a word of praise for the citizens of Christmas Island for their heroic actions in rescuing as many as they can from the boat that went down. Then a word of praise for customs and RAN personnel for the same.

Then an expression of sympathy for those lost, their actions have brought them to a far harsher end than any would wish upon them. Ive been to Christmas Island, and the part they appear to have hit is sharp cliff face, 2-5 m high and difficult to clamber over, a terrible end.

I sent a submission to the new immigration minister when it was called for last year, offering advice and answers to any questions he and his staff might have on immigration detention issues. I received back a terse reply along the lines of “your experiences are out of date and irrelevant and won’t be considered.”

I have great confidence the new minister has already signaled to smugglers that their business is back open. When this leads to deaths, it will be as a result of people who are acting with the best of intentions to prevent a number of smaller evils (mandatory detention) which are easily visible, while not being aware of the much greater evils they are helping facilitate.

Julia “when we get in we will change everything” Gillard today announced a large expansion in holding facilities for illegal immigrants here in Oz.

Stars, about as real as my promises...

This is curious for 2 reasons, shes only just announced families will be let out ASAP, regardless of their claims veracity, this should have freed up around 700 beds.

Now shes announcing the creation of 2000 new beds, thats an effective expansion of over 2700 places.  In addition there are 2 other sites, with unspecified numbers, that are available as well.

Now add the number of releases from detention as part of the normal process then just how big a wave of migration have they unleashed on Australia with their ideological and stupid reversal of the Howard regime?

So is there a reporter brave enough to buttonhole the new Immigration minister and ask for his estimates of numbers for the next 12 months?  Would they also enquire just what numbers Labour or the greens might consider a “crisis” for the wider community?

Julia and her band of ideologues have unleashed a tidal wave of people that will fundamentally change Australia for the worse.  I dont accept this is an “honest mistake” or that they “mean well”, this is a deliberate attempt to import a voting block and cement at least state government control for labor. They will cram the centres, and create a crisis that will “justify” the dismantling of Australias border regime. They are effectively devaluing the worth of Australian citizenship to the price of a people smugglers fare.

Australia without borders.

Well it appears its nearly official, Australia has effectively ceased to have borders.

In a major policy shift, the Federal Government is preparing to announce plans to release hundreds of asylum seekers from detention and allow them to live in the community while their applications for asylum are being accessed.

 

Many years ago, around the time of the Latham election I was having a conversation with a detainee about the likelihood of a Labour government opening the centres and releasing all the asylum applicants. At that time I told the bloke I thought it was extremely unlikely unless the greens held the balance of power. Fast forward a decade and here we are, right on schedule.

It means hundreds of asylum seekers, including about 700 children, who are currently in detention centres are likely to be released

Every child released, effectively making turning up with a kid a ticket straight out of detention and into Australia. This will have the effect of seeing more women and children on the boats, at the moment its more single men.

Senator Hanson-Young says issues of employment and education are still yet to be worked out.

“Children who are of school age will need to be going to school. That’s one of the things that I’m quite strong on,” she said.

“In terms of working, some people may be able to, because they’re up for it. Other people are simply are not in a state to be able to work as yet … My understanding is that the Minister wouldn’t have made a decision on those work rules yet.”

“Some people are simply not in a state to be able to work”… So the greens will be pushing for open ended welfare straight off the boat…how..enlightened of them.

She says there will be a variety of different options for housing.

“Currently, of course, there are families and children housed in detention facilities at the moment in Darwin where they’re under lock and guard by 24 hour security, where their movement is restricted,” she said.

“Even removing that restriction will actually help a lot. Parents could take their kids down to the park, make them meals as they see fit.

Housing: “Just open the centres and remove the guards” seems to be her solution.

Do you think it will cause more asylum seekers: “no that’s not going to happen its a myth and simply not true”…

The absolute stupidity and/or evil of this airhead is beyond normal. Australia has a tolerant and thriving society because we accept, to a large extent, that government of whatever stripes are actually trying to “do good” by the majority of the population.

This decision will see refugee numbers increase by a factor of ten over the next 2 years, Im willing to place an even money bet on it.

This is an act of political bastardry unequaled in the last few decades. Julia and her party have NO mandate for this at all, Im willing to bet they would have lost the election if they had so much as hinted at this policy turn around.

So why did Rudd relax the laws in the first place?

Better late than never, but all this could have been avoided.

KEVIN Rudd has reopened one of the most controversial Howard-era detention centres, the Curtin facility in Western Australia, in an attempt to send a clear signal to prospective asylum-seekers that Australia is toughening up its refugee policies.

Rudd would never say as much, but essentially he has vindicated Howard. And not a moment too soon considering the number of asylum-seekers has gone up five-fold, and the centre on Christmas Island is literally overflowing since Rudd’s heart started bleeding.

And what does this actually seem more about? This just looks like more Rudd spin. He hasn’t indicated that he’ll actually change any of the policies (laws?) that he so disastrously weakened over a year ago. Rather than “toughening up its refugee policies”, this smacks of a PM applying a band-aid solution to a gunshot wound. With the same weakened laws in place, and no will to change them, Rudd has no other option than to open up more accomodations. One doubts this sends a clear message at all, other than, “Keep coming, guys, we’ve made more beds available.”

Paying Unassimilated Muslim Immigrants to Leave

The tide has shifted. Even many liberal-left Democrats are beginning to tire of government enforced, “cultural diversity” when the subjects in question are Muslim immigrants who refuse to assimilate, and do nothing but breed on the dole and threaten their hosts with violence… and often enough, act out on those threats.

Sweden, a country I love – OK, I really love the women – and have lived in, is paying the return trip for asylum seekers who have been turned down. Note that the countries listed are all Muslim countries, that a higher percentage are now being refused, and that applications are also dropping as the people back home get word that the public teat is running dry.

Denmark is going that one better, as they are paying unassimilated Muslim residents about $20K US to… ahem… get the fuck out. The something that is rotten in Denmark is the unassimilated Muslims, and the natives want them gone.

Expect this to spread. Peace-loving citizens of western nations – who will readily self-identify as libertarians if the terms are properly defined for them – are fed up with this malignant ideology parading as a religion, and they bloody well want their countries back.

Here in the US, the solo terror attack by Nidal Hasan is being called a terror attack in newspapers that were formerly allergic to the word. Deniers are being shouted down, and even their hearts aren’t into their arguments anymore.

Not only that, but there are now calls for the abjectly ridiculous Clinton-era gun ban for military bases and posts to be rescinded. This is major big progress. I grew up a military brat on Air Force bases in the 60’s and 70’s: My dad carried a .357 revolver around with him whenever he was flying, and nobody ever gave it a second thought. It’s a military base for fuck’s sake! Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines are supposed to be fucking goddamned ARMED! Expect this to change, and soon. Even lilly-livered generals don’t like to be caught with their pants around their ankles while their unarmed soldiers are mowed down by lunatics.

There will also be an end to this kind of malfeasant shit. Hasan’s superiors wondered if he was a bleeding psychotic nut-case, but nobody wanted to take the heat for accusing a Muslim of being a danger. A hearty fuck that to that noise. That’s gone soon as well, and three cheers.

Westerners are long-suffering because we’re civilized, and we’d like more of the world to share in our prosperity and standard of living, but if you invite a dog into your house and he refuses to stop shitting on the carpet, well, you’ll rid yourself of the cur sooner or later, no matter how much you wish he’d shape up.

Heavy stuff.

But here’s the dilemma.

Population. It’s growth and demographics.

Take Europe.

And what apparently is keeping the US’ population steady (if one can be so loose, yet accurate, with the word)… talking fertility rates, and yes, talking religion, is this. No, not Muslim immigration into the US. Forget the title. Go to the 7:40 mark… for now.

Take that 7:40 mark. Immigration. Namely Latino immigration. And probably a large portion of that illegal.

Perhaps the US has to provide those services for those south of the border? A kind of realpolitik situation?

But then we have the following, which notes, “No one knows how many Muslims will be living in Europe or anywhere else by 2050. But if we want to make a sensible prediction, we need to find the most accurate data available, and then treat that data with very great care. The makers of the Muslim demographics video did neither.”

Touche. Yet quite a bold claim on BBC4’s part, also, considering they noted that some claims “are more or less correct” and admitted they couldn’t find/didn’t bother finding where the original vid sourced some of their claims from [as a journo major, why didn’t you just ask them? – bing… including Bryan J Williamson whose source appears in the original film… yet to be honest, is a bit of an enigma who lacks decent credentials… just try googling him].

Yet as a final tidbit, this interesting quote, er, prequote.

“Population projection is an inexact science. No one knows how many Muslims will be living in Europe or anywhere else by 2050.”

Quite true. Obviously so.

So, as a side note, wouldn’t the same inexact science, that lack of ability to accurately predict the future, be so for climate models, also?

Media lies and distortions.

Australia has a national broadcaster, the ABC. It is fully government funded, and, as are most institutions of that type, of a fiercely left wing bent.

One case in particular has been its treatment of the illegal immigrant issues over the last decade or so. No allegation made by the ABC has been more long lasting than the one that the previous government deliberately lied about children being thrown overboard from refugee boats.

 

However it takes a special type of ignorance to ignore the senate report into the incident, which clearly states that it

A: Had happened before

B: Was threatened numerous other times.

C: Failed, and still fails to give ANY account of some of the violence and threatening/intinmidating behaviour faced by the Australian boarding parties.

 

There is a direct link to that behaviour and the deaths of 5 people, not including others lost previously when an asylum seekers boat was deliberately sunk by some of those on board. Yet the ABC still mentions “children overboard” as though there was no reason for the government of the day to have believed the reports. I have absolutely no doubt if Barnett hadnt spoken out this would be played out as an unexplained accident rather than an act of brinkmanship gone wrong.

Perjurer goes to gaol.

This may seem petty but I’m extremely glad convicted perjurer Marcus Einfeld has gone to gaol. This apparent pillar of society accused me, and the people I worked with of being no better than the following picture.

He told multiple lies of both fact and omission while doing so, but being a “pillar of society” and supporting the lefty side of the debate, he was not refuted as he should have been.

Below the fold is a minor Fisking of just one speech he gave on the area I happen to have a great deal of knowledge about. Detention services. There is at least an essays worth there, but I don’t feel the urge to refute every one of this convicted liars claims.

Another wander down memory lane, a Deportation.

I go to Dubai.

 

I was selected to take back 2 gentlemen to Dubai. Both had dropped their claims for asylum and were being removed.

I was summonsed to the DIMIA offices and given my orders. Including all the phone numbers, names and flights I would be taking. I quickly scurried off to the bank and withdrew a large sum of cash, Id heard Dubai was the place to get jewelry and didn’t want to miss out.

The flight to Perth was fairly uneventful, however instead of a days layover it was straight on a jet to KL. By the time we reached KL I was knackered, Id been up for about 18 hours. We were met by DIMIA staff and taken past passport control into the security section of the airport. They dropped me off at the immigration lockup at KL and told me theyd be back in about 5 hours to pick us up for the second half of the flight.

McCain’s Perfect Choice for a Running Mate: Governor Sarah Palin

While most of the pedantic, two-dimensional, inside-the-box-thinking, conservative political hacks are touting Tom Ridge for the slot (Not a bad guy, but…), David Freddoso notes a far superior choice has been proposed: The Republican Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.

I believe this is a truly inspired idea. Gov. Palin ran as an anti-corruption outsider, and handily defeated a corrupt and entrenched Republican political machine. Plus, at 44, she would almost totally wipe the “age issue” McCain has off the slate, and since Obama is only two years her senior, there is no way they could attack her for her youth and inexperience: She has much more executive experience than Senator Obama has.

Not to mention the fact that, she’s a gorgeous woman who exudes mass quantities of charisma…

and has a super-solid family life.

Dibs on the eldest daughter! LOL!

This inspired choice would allow McCain to actually capitalize on his “maverick” persona, as Gov. Palin shook Alaska politics to the core: She’s a charming, charismatic woman, but she can also play with the big boys and kick ass.

What say ye?

Illegal immigration resurfaces

Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd can deny it all he likes, but since abolishing the Pacific Solution, and thus being far more lenient to asylum seekers coming to Australia, the number of boat people trying to reach Australian shores has seen a sharp rise in recent months. Yes, that’s another 35 caught of the West Australian coast just today.

At least Sharman Stone, Opposition Immigration and Citizenship spokeswoman is trying to hold Rudd to account yet Turnbull’s silence has been deafening.

And this situation doesn’t look like it’s going to improve any time soon, either. Take this. It has been suggested some people currently in detention centres should be released, even though they haven’t been properly identified. And to think, some in the so-called Opposition are going for this one, too. All this in the same breath as we watched in horror this week the Mumbai attacks.

Add to that, just how are Australia’s waters meant to be patrolled properly when the navy has been ordered to shut down for two months over Christmas, just as numbers of illegal immigrants are rising again?

And to top it all off, corrupt Indonesian officials, where many of the people smugglers operate out of, have been selling fake visas!

Yes, this debate should ignite again.

Pull your head out of the sand, Rudd. And start living up to your namesake, Turnbull (hint: Opposition).

Illegal Immigrants Returning to Mexico in Record Numbers

DALLAS — Illegal immigrants are returning home to Mexico in numbers not seen for decades — and the Mexican government may have to deal with a crush on its social services and lower wages once the immigrants arrive.

The Mexican Consulate’s office in Dallas is seeing increasing numbers of Mexican nationals requesting paperwork to go home for good, especially parents who want to know what documentation they’ll need to enroll their children in Mexican schools.

“Those numbers have increased percentage-wise tremendously,” said Enrique Hubbard, the Mexican consul general in Dallas. “In fact, it’s almost 100 percent more this year than it was the previous two years.”

The illegal immigrant population in the U.S. has dropped 11 percent since August of last year, according to the Center for Immigration Studies. Its research shows 1.3 million illegal immigrants have returned to their home countries.
