Gore debates Monckton

It’s the battle of the ugly surnames.

This first bit is actually back from 2006, but given the recent attention being given Christopher Monckton, it’s well worth another read (or a first one).

Is this why Al Gore has refused debate since?

As a politician, Gore speaks warmly of transparency. But as GIM chairman, Gore has not been forthcoming. Little is known about his shadowy firm’s finances, where it gets funding and what projects it supports.

This time, Monckton ups the anti.

“Al, Baby. If you really think that you want to raise the profile of this issue, then why don’t you agree to debate with me on international television – the fees we’d earn, apart from anything else, and I know you’d love that, because money seems to stick to you very rapidly – I want you to face me in a debate about global warming, and if you don’t dare, I want you to remain silent about that subject forever from now on. Are you a coward, or will you step up to the plate? Are you an armchair quarterback, or are you going to get suited up and get onto that field?”

Did you observe Earth Hour? Al Gore didn’t bother.

Well, after the sucess of An Inconvenient Truth, he hardly has to worry about the electricity bill. It seems he’s not worried about climate change, either. The lights might have been turned off at your house but they weren’t at his. Let’s hope you didn’t pay to see his shockumentary.

New study concludes climate change natural

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has just released a new study into global warming/climate change noting that temperatures have cooled off since 2001 and that the last 100 years of climate change has been natural.

This is on top of PhD student, Ryan N. Maue, of the Department of Meteorology at Florida State University, confirming that hurricane activity is at its lowest in 30 years.

Sorry, Al.

And more media folks are warming up to this fact.

And as if you needed further evidence that the computer models are dodgy, Steve Goddard over at WAWT rips them apart.

In fact, things could even get a little cooler than what we’ve seen already since 2001.

A US  Senate Minority Report of dissenting scientists is gaining about four  extra signatures every week. There are now over 700 AGW skeptics contributing to it.

The over 700 dissenting scientists are now more than 13 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

Why I’m A Climate Change Skeptic

There are a number of reasons I’m a climate change skeptic. And here are the main ones.

It’s Official! Al Gore’s a Prophet and Global Warming Deniers are Going to Hell!

At a recent religious conference where Al Gore was described as “a Prophet” and presented with a Bible with a GREEN cover, he announced, citing Luke 12:54-57 for scriptural support, that it is dishonest (and therefore sinful) for anyone to claim that global warming is merely a theory rather than a scientific fact.

From the Baptist Press:

ATLANTA (BP)–Protecting the earth from global warming is a mandatory part of following Jesus, former Vice President Al Gore said at a “Stewardship of the Earth” luncheon Jan. 31 during the New Baptist Covenant Celebration in Atlanta.

“This is not a political issue,” Gore told a crowd of approximately 2,500 paying attendees. “It is a moral issue. It is an ethical issue. It is a spiritual issue.”

Gore quoted Scripture several times in his speech and repeated his views that increasing amounts of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere are causing a global climate crisis. Gore produced an Academy Award-winning documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth,” which also dealt with global climate change and is being shown at the New Baptist Covenant meeting.

In an introduction of Gore, Robert Parham, executive director of the Baptist Center for Ethics, called the former Democratic presidential nominee a “Baptist prophet” and appeared to criticize the Southern Baptist Convention for its failure to commend Gore for his achievements. He also presented Gore with a “Baptist of the Year Award.”

Gore, citing Luke 12:54-57 for scriptural support, argued that it is dishonest for anyone to claim that global warming is merely a theory rather than a scientific fact.

“The evidence is there,” he said. “The signal is on the mountain. The trumpet has blown. The scientists are screaming from the rooftops. The ice is melting. The land is parched. The seas are rising. The storms are getting stronger. Why do we not judge what is right?”
