Conundrum

There is perhaps no better example out there of such. Bush is making one last ditch effort to make some kind of progress on the North Korea conundrum before leaving office – mainly what to do about the North’s nuclear program. But let’s face it, not much will come of it. Here you have a country, total population perhaps hovering around the 23 million mark with a combined active and reserve military force of about nine million. And it would take their missiles just 12 minutes to reach downtown Seoul. The Seoul National Capital Area is the second largest metropolitan area in the world with a population of almost 25 million.

Best of luck with that chit chat, Obama.

(PS … and you wonder why I live in the deep south of the country next to an airport…)

PPS Here’s a documentary on North Korea. It’s a few years old but I highly recommend you watch it.

PPPS But are we, in a necessary yet still tragic cross-cultural irony, witnessing death by a 1000 cuts?

But what other ’solution’ is there?

What would China do?

Good idea, if only…

… Obama would have private companies bid for the various infrastructure projects he has planned.

130,000 inflatable boobs lost at sea en route to Australia

Today Tim Blair rounds up reports of the sinking fortunes of Australian news media, but here’s a blow to publisher PBL he missed:

More than 130,000 inflatable breasts have been lost at sea en route to Australia.

Men’s magazine Ralph was planning to include the boobs as a free gift with its January issue.

The cargo is worth about $200,000, which is another blow for publisher ACP’s parent company PBL, which is already in $4.3 billion of debt.

I understand neither Wronwright nor Paco have been available for comment.

UPDATE:   For the non-Aussies here, Ralph Magazine.

Joe Satriani Sues Coldplay Over Viva La Vida

Satch is suing Coldplay over their mega-hit Viva La Vida.

Seems like a blatant rip-off to me.

Same melody, same chord progression, same key, and same tempo. Whisky Tango Foxtrot?!

Hope Joe gets a fortune for this. People who rip off other people’s music and claim it as their own are lower than lawyers.
